Poor communication from the owner Joel who was not upfront with many costs. He quoted us $230 to change four light bulbs in some very high ceiling fans in our house and do some light cleaning above our fireplace. Upon completion of the work he attempted to upcharge us to $460 by including driving time (which he did not tell us about in his initial quote) as well as time that the technicians were sitting in their car waiting - they had arrived 1 hour earlier than they were scheduled so we had to rush to get home to let them in, and Joel was adamant about including this in the hourly rate. I wonder what would have happened if we had showed up exactly on time as scheduled. Would Joel have charged us an additional $230 because they had arrived earlier than they told us? It is hard to see how that is the fault of the customer.

The technicians who came to our house did a great job and were friendly. I have no qualms with the work that they did.

Overall however it seems that Joel focuses on the short term by upcharging customers with unexpected costs, not understanding the value of communicating well and keeping customers satisfied for years to come. We will not be using their business again.

Good Honest Service. Highly Recommended.

I am a homeowner in Davis. We recently purchased a new induction cooktop to replace our existing gas range. This required a dedicated 240V 50A circuit to be run directly from the panel box. We also needed wires for a new ceiling fan installed, and an existing circuit relocated to accommodate a hybrid-electric water heater. I called several companies for quotes and Woodland Electrical was by far the most reasonable.

The technicians from Woodland electrical arrived promptly as scheduled. They were friendly and professional, did a nice job, and kept the work area clean--vacuuming up all dust after opening the wall. The technician also came back for the city inspection as scheduled.

What impressed me most about their service was their responsiveness to a problem that arose after the fact. Several weeks after completing the job, the plumber installing the water heater ran into difficulties identifying the correct wires to connect the heater to. After discussing the issue over the phone with Woodland Electrical, they sent their technician back that day. Not only did the technician add clear labels to each wire, but he also connected the water heater for us at no additional cost. It’s hard to find good companies that really stand by their work, and I really appreciate Woodland Electrical going the extra mile for us. I will be recommending them to my neighbors and will definitely use them again when I have new electrical work on my home. Two thumbs up!

I took time off work to be home during day and they never showed up. Called at the end of the 1 hour scheduled window and was told they would contact the person that was supposed to show up and get back to me. Waited 30 minutes and never heard from them. I had leave to get back to work. Extremely unprofessional.

I worked with woodland Electric for a simple residential job but it required a lot of trenching. They were fantastic. They ran into some unexpected tree roots and they worked tirelessly to get that part of the job job done with an happy and friendly attitude. Once they wired the job it was done very well and they only left after everything worked. I would absolutely recommend them to everyone. They were hard working and gave me a fair price.

Nice people but charged me $250 for coming out and finding a hidden GFI outlet that needed to be reset. Was hopeful to use their business for future properties after friendly customer service and quick turnaround.
