I brought my daughter to the emergency room due to her severe eye pain, light sensitivity, and sudden vision loss. Despite the seriousness of her symptoms, we were kept waiting for over two hours with no meaningful examination. They only checked her blood pressure, and no further diagnostic tests or evaluations were done.

After two hours of waiting, we were informed that we needed to go to Children’s Hospital because she is under 18. I had already mentioned to the staff that we had an appointment with her doctor the following morning. This entire experience felt like a waste of time with little communication or urgency from the medical team. I expected much better care from a renowned facility like UT Southwestern.

Been battling ongoing issues and UTSW 2 visits and about 3-4 hr waits was followed up with good knowledgeable drs and nurses. After being admitted and first time staying in a hospital the nurses and techs were good and friendly/ very thorough

Gotta go w/ definitely a miss. But staff effort is a 5+. My Wife suffered w/ severe back pain for 2 weeks thinking it would get better. Finally stopped by a “Dr in a box” and they said all they could do was xray and she likely needed soft tissue scan/mri. They recommended a non hospital ER and gave us a card for them. Frontline ER they said usually little to no wait etc etc. But we decided better to do UTSW b/c real hosp real Drs etc. And she really needed relief. Going to Clements UTSW ER a miss > 3hr wait in real pain b/c had to sit in waiting room chair. And -get this- can only do xray no soft tissue scan. But -again- staff _very_ clueFull and they were able to relive pain and provide advice, which was “get mri “😅 which we already knew.
The wait in pain was the miss. and now we will have 2 sets of bills trickling in for months. UTSW and Frontline ER.
A fix maybe would be the availability of broad est of wait time +/- 30min would be fine provided at ckin and/or online live. 3-4 hrs isn’t a reasonable expectation -maybe 1 1/2 max- and had we known we would have made a diff decision.

As with literally any ER ever, the wait is awful. There’s no way around it, and while there are plenty of ERs to choose from in DFW, there’s just so many people here. If you look at the picture you’ll see urgency levels, even a seizure is down to #3. It didn’t seem like too busy of a night and I still waited 5.5 hours, but it is what it is. Everyone I interacted with was extremely kind and helpful except for only 1 nurse at the checkin stand who I asked for an update. The nurse who checked me in, and the supervising nurse at check in were great. The guest relations team was super friendly and helpful. All of the nurses in the back were great and the doctor saw me quickly and got me taken care of. Heading out the security team escorted me to my car so I didn’t have to walk which was really nice. You can count on good quality care here, but without a life threatening issue you’re in for a long haul of a wait

Here today, 1/11/23, Been here four hours and STILL haven't seen a doctor. Understand they're busy but lots of walking around following each other around. We've been waiting in a hallway. not even in a room. Arrangements made prior visit just need approval to be moved Stuck here waiting for doctor approval and a social worker. For whatever reason. This takes FOUR hours? Most people have been nice but place is a mess and many things seem broken. Not impressed yet.

Worst hospital emergency room !!!!! I took my mom at 10:00pm and we are still awaiting to go to a room and it is now 3:13am. This is insane and patients should not have to wait over 5hrs who are in severe pain. My mom entire face was swollen and in pain. They said the wait is typically 5 hrs or longer. Avoid this hospital if possible

I was here around 11 pm and they did the pressure test and check-in after 10-15 minutes. But, I waited till 2 am to see the nurse and do other tests. I’m writing this review at 3:35 am and waiting for my test results or possibly see a doctor. There are so many patients here but they call people every 15-20 minutes. They are very slow. There is an old lady patient that she complained about the waiting time to see the nurse and doctor, one of the nurses said there are only 2 doctors for all patients, unbelievable!!!
Nurses are respectful and kind. But this system has an issue and has a weak management.
Do not come if you do not want waste your time.
It’s 3:50 and some patients left because of waiting too long. They argued with one of the nurse and it doesn’t seem she cares at all, I haven’t seen something like that before. One of the patients that left was an old man that you could see that he cannot talk and walk properly. The nurse told him come back if you needed anything, although he was here already and begging for help but they ignored him and treat him awfully. That was so disappointing to see all this in a hospital in Dallas.

I don't understand why people are complaining about Clements Jr. University Hospital Emergency Room. It's a Level 4 Trauma Center. A mile away, is one of the finest Level 1 Trauma Centers in the country: UT SW Parkland Hospital. As a Heart Transplant patient, I've been through the ER twice: nothing bad to say about it. I ended up spending the night in ER, when they didn't have a CICU room for me. But, everyone was nice and accommodating as possible. BTW: both those times I was delivered by ambulance. Never even stopped until I was in an examination room. For follow on appointments, I take the short-cut (to the Blue Elevators) through the ER and have NEVER seen the ER crowded.
