Chris and his team did an amazing job on my new residential construction. He was fair, honest, and was in touch at any time. He let me know time lines and gave updates this spring when we were having all of the rain. They got septic and excavating done and it couldn't be any better. Exceeded my expectations. Beware that the excavator may ruin your yard, and they dont repair the damage.but the grass does grow back. Also they backed over my fire pit, but they did buy me a replacement.. great local business

Wally Schmid was recommended to me and contacted by the plumber I hired to fix my sewer issue. They were told it was urgent. Chris came out the same day to assess the work that was needed. After finding out my family (wife, 3y old son, 2y old son) hadn't been able to use the toilet or shower in my house for 5 days, Chris changed around his next days schedule and coordinated with Quandt Plumbing to come out the next morning! In a matter of 7 hours, they were able to replace my main sewer line from inside to outside my home and give my family back the use of our house. This included digging a 15ft deep hole directly next to my house! Every member of their team was extremely courteous and professional. I can't speak highly enough of them. If there was a 6th star to give, Wally Schmid deserves it!

I have used Wally Schmid Excavating twice at my own home and once at our rental. Chris Schmid is awesome to work with and his crew is wonderful. Chris has always handled dealing with the city and when finished I have been very happy with the work they’ve done! Lead pipes, broken sewer mains and broken water pipes are very stressful but these guys handle everything professionally, and in the end, they make it right! A+++

I had a horrible experience with this company for many reasons. They are overpriced for the small amount of digging they needed to do for us. Their lack of communication skills and poor organization wasted a lot of time. We were told we would have to wait several months to move into our new home because Wally dropped the ball and said it was too late to start. Thank God we were able to find a different company to get the work done for us and move in in a timely manner. Save yourself heartache and stress and stay far away from this business.

Made several attempts to get ahold of Wally for an residential estimate and no follow up . First, I talked to Wally directly and provided him with address and details of the project. I sent all necessary information to him and he gave no follow up. I also contacted Wally through his website and again no response. Wally may be great at excavation, but I won’t work with a contractor that has poor customer service.
