Our project was a master bathroom remodel and master bedroom floor replacement. Their company did not give us the lowest estimate for the project, and they did not come up with the highest estimate either. We went with their company because we thought that if we spent a little more money, we would get better results, better service and a higher quality end product. In the end, we paid more for the same type of headaches we would have gotten from other general contractors and construction companies. (This was not the only project that we recently completed for our home.)
Pro:
Communication with the city inspectors and permitting process went well.
Demolition went well.
Tile work was better than most.
Trim and molding work was installed correctly.
Installation of hardware, plumbing, light fixtures, faucets, and toilet went well.
Countertop installation went well.
They completed the glass shower door and glass enclosure within a 2-week timeframe.
We were able to get a response from their office staff within a day after any inquiry.
At the completion of the project, their cleanup crew did a fantastic job.
They followed up and corrected most of your concerns.
Wendy did an excellent job addressing our problems and communicating our needs to the workers and general contractor.
Cons:
Check all change orders carefully before you pay them. We had to point out that they had double charged us.
They did not finish the entire project at a reasonable timeframe. They initially estimated the job would take 3 weeks, and it took more than 2 months to complete. (Job started 10/7/2024 and ended on 12/13/2024).
We felt that we were not a priority to this construction company. Work on our project was usually done on the weekends or after 5 PM on most occasions.
Constant over watch and calling main office to ensure some type of work gets done.
In addition, workers that came to our home usually did not know what they had to work on or could not complete a task due to other task that were not completed on time. For example, a hot mop crew came to our home on a Saturday after 5 pm and could not work on the shower area because the framing for the shower bench was not completed, and the floor drain hole was not sealed up with concrete. That hot mop crew had to be rescheduled for a later date.
Lack of attention to details. In essence, we had to take the role of general contractor for most of the project. We constantly had to point out areas that had to be corrected, touched up, or fixed to our expectations. For instance, there were area they failed to paint, and painted areas had streeks and clumsy lines.
They were not able to deliver on a smooth wall and ceiling texture. The person that did the wall and ceiling texture inappropriately covered up can light fixture baffle trims instead of removing them.
They demanded a final check even though there were several problematic areas to address.
We had to point out problems to them more than once before they took action to try to remedy the situation.
Lack of communication during critical times. For example, the materials they listed on the contract that they charged us for were often not at the job site for the day they were needed. Moreover, they asked us if we had bought those materials. We provided a large portion of the materials for the project and went over what we had on site at the start of the project.
It was very rare that this company told us in advance when someone would come in to work on a particular task. There were a few weeks that no one showed up to our jobsite for several days. We had to call them to find out what the delay was.
To sum up, there was a severe lack of planning, coordination, craftmanship, and communication for our bathroom remodeling project. With our extra effort and sweat equity, we were able to complete our remodel with decent results. If you plan on hiring this company, be prepared to be the project manager / general contractor of your own project, as they will not.

From the very beginning, I felt a bit nervous about embarking on such a major project. This company was in budget, friendly and knew what they were doing. I hired Sandra and Esvin Vasquez to build my house from the ground up, and I highly recommend this company.
One of the big things was their affordable pricing. They listened and worked with me to make sure l stayed in budget. They were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the selection of tiles, stucco and other materials that I had to choose. They personally took me to a warehouses to select the materials and they had relationships with these warehouses so getting the materials ordered was very easy.
Their team is large and capable, ensuring that every aspect of the project was handled efficiently and professionally. I could call Sandra or Esvin and someone would get back to me. Being a family business, there was a personal touch to their interactions and that made a big difference to me. I appreciate someone treating me like an extended family member.
Another major advantage is that this company is Spanish-speaking, which was very helpful to me and my husband. Their knowledge of Santa Ana building codes was also very good, and they were always available to run down to the city to fill out any necessary paperwork. They handled all the permits and inspections, and sent the workers to my property on time. Building a home is stressful and I am so glad that I was able to have the Vasquez family handle all that stress.
Throughout the construction, there were issues like material shortages or blueprint issues and they were so quick to fix these problems. They have been in the business for a long time and they know how to fix any issues. I like that if I saw a mistake or an issue, l could give them a call and they would send someone to fix it right away; honest people!
So, if you are looking for a reliable, affordable, and honest contractor, talk to Sandra of Vasquez Construction. They exceeded my expectations in every way, and I am thrilled with my new home. Many people have complimented our home and I am pleased with how it turned out.
I would like to give a big shout-out to Sandra, Esvin and Wendy, who did a good job on this major project. Their dedication, expertise, and friendly demeanor made the entire experience smooth.

(Main bathroom demo, remodel, and closet addition)
After losing a deposit with a contractor who gave me a quote ranging from 80k-150k for a whole house remodel, it took 3 years before I felt comfortable enough to find a new contractor who would remodel one bathroom in desperate need. I'd contacted various firms: some felt my budget was too small and others didn't even call back. I was very cautious about the whole situation.
I met with Sandra and Esvin to discuss what I wanted. I stopped by their showroom which was nicely done and that sold me on the quality of their work. Sandra was very knowledgeable and was able to help me narrow down the design based on what would pass inspection. She also laid out the law for me about when contractors could accept payments and how they're usually spaced out. I told her my budget and she was able to work with it. They even pulled the permits which the previous contractor wanted me to do!
I worked a lot with Wendy who was super helpful with my endless questions-including input on design options. Since I wasn't working with an architect, designer, or even a floor plan, her accessibility was very helpful and reassuring. The proposal was laid out a la carte so there was a lot of flexibility in choosing my materials and removing elements I no longer wanted.
The Vasquez crew is skilled and hardworking and the whole project was completed in about 2 months. The entire project stayed on budget with the only changes they proposed were fixing a section of the bathroom (which was an addition) that had been poorly attached to the main house (you could see through a gap to the outside) and budget increases were because of my own design choices (which I don't regret!).
The experience wasn't perfect so it wouldn't be right to review it as such--but the issues I ran into were so miniscule that I don't feel it's even worth knocking down a star because they could have been easily resolved with more communication and questions from my end.
There were a few small hiccups:
-a doorway into the bathroom from the main bedroom that was initially proposed didn't fit so had to be removed from the design altogether.
-The city didn't approve a light i had wanted to be installed over the tub and somewhere in excitement of a new bathroom I didn't get the message
- the window I wanted had been discussed with Esvin, and was telephoned to Wendy so the one that arrived weeks after the initial conversation wasn't what I initially wanted but waiting on it would have been a 6-week delay and I chose to settle for the window that was available to keep the project moving.
-the cleanup wasn't included. A plastic sheeting had been draped over my furniture but it was very light and while it kept a lot of dust away, there was still a lot of dust I had to clean up, as well as debris (tile bits, dust, buckets, etc.) in the side yard.
As a first-time homeowner, this was my first true experience with a remodel and I am happy with the process and the outcome. I'm already planning out my other projects and look forward to working with them.

We had Vesquez Contructuon work in our personal residence. We had a second story addition above the garage. Project went smoothly and on a timely matter. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

We worked with Sandra, Wendy, Esvin and the team on a larger project: converting our garage into a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom ADU. The team was incredible to work with and took so much stress away with their diligent work with the city and commitment to making sure we were happy with the results. Sandra and Wendy were great at communicating and providing recommendations for design/function. One of the best things was there was always someone from the team on site for all inspections. The project was also completed close to 2 months ahead of schedule. We appreciate all the hard work the team put into our ADU. Everyone who has visited is in awe of how beautiful it looks.
