Just another huge waste of funding that would be better spent on public parks and education. Remember when you cant find a clean public restroom, the streets smell like urine, and your kids are illiterate. This is why.

This place is not allowed to enter without a army sponsor.
Luckily I have a friend who retired from the army and could go in with him.
This place is huge and you may go gym, restaurant and beach.
It is worth to be there.

So I currently started to go to this senior location with my fiance. He helps out a man who served 18 years in the service. He's been watching the this vet for about 2 years. Coming out of the shelter going for your first place is not always the best choice. But from my perspective the manager seems to be running a penetentary or believe she is. Very petty. Might be a sense of racistness. They charge the senior veterans for any maintenance done small or big. The maintance man who supposedly has been around for 20 years goes out of his way to report any seemingly infraction. I wouldn't recommend it as a first choice or if you have a life,like to have company,or are of color.

Watched a rocket launch, went to several beautiful beaches, and walked some trails. This base is beautiful and engaging. We saw lots of wildlife, the people were friendly and the neighborhood was very family oriented and walkable. The trails were well maintained. Lots of stuff to do here and in the surrounding towns os Lompoc and Santa Maria.

It's alright for a beachfront U.S. Air Force Base. I was very disappointed in the total lack of female service members sunning themselves on the beach, especially during launches. They could stand to hire a better bartender, and their security staff really needs to chill out! They almost shot me!

The weather here is usually great. Sometimes it's a bit chilly and windy. There are lots of areas to explore since this is such a large base. There are plenty of roads good for biking with low traffic.
