When my wife and I finally decided to fully renovate our large guest room and add a full bathroom, it was a daunting process to have multiple contractors come to the house and offer quotes. Not only did that take a considerable amount of time, but we just did not feel fully confident with anyone that came by. That is, right until Mike Moore from UM Builders arrived. From the very start we finally discovered what we were looking for….trustworthiness and commitment. Someone who would overcome our fears of taking on this project in the first place. Which we had many.

Mike to us ended up being less of a contractor, and more of a true partner in a passion project that he and his team were clearly proud of creating. It was evident early on that no detail was too small to be given the attention we were hoping for when we originally committed to working with Mike. Offering excellent course corrections to our plan and new suggestions we had not thought of. Generally going above and beyond the call of duty without being asked.

Halfway through the project, everything was going so well we decided to add an additional one by having his team also turn their attention to our master bathroom, and rip and replace our old bathtub. Turning that old tub it into the most beautiful glassed in tiled shower.

Now that everything has been completed with both projects, we look back on our choice of contractors and feel truly lucky to have found UM Builders and Mike Moore. We cannot recommend this general contractor more strongly.

UM Builders installed a new footpath, low-voltage landscape lighting and a small retaining wall at the front of our property. We got 6 bids on the project and UM's bid was in the middle. So we didn’t choose them because they were the least expensive. We thought their price was fair and equally important, we really liked Mike. We felt as though we could trust him - he seemed like the guy who actually did the work, not just a salesperson. This turned out to be true. He listened to our needs and ideas, and his recommendations reflected this. During the sales process, most of the others were focused on getting us to buy what they wanted to sell us, not listening to what we wanted.

While the work was going on he checked in every day, most days he stopped by, and he was always available via phone or text.

When the job was wrapping up, we found some small adjustments that still needed to be completed and we talked with Mike about them. He ended up completing them himself so he could be sure they were done as we had asked.

We’re very happy with the quality of the work, and have heard from neighbors they really like how it turned out. We strongly recommend UM Builders and would work with them again.
