The fact that they falsified soil samples instead of actually removing the radioactive material tells you all you need to know.
I worked there for years and developed cancer at a young age. Buyer beware.

In development stage, once Google move in, it can become one more of the wonder spot to see sight in Bay Area. The historical Navy space has the potential to shine right this time. Besides the view is amazing.

If you decide to buy here, definitely play hard and get the developer to fix everything before closing. The customer care team is not very proactive about responding or fixing issues after moving in--their favorite excuse is that the issues are "within tolerance" and will try to avoid fixing it. Also, hire an agent to represent yourself as the buyer! There's no cost to you (seller pays the agent out of the proceeds), and it will be nice to have an agent on your side.

Besides that..it's overall a nice place to live. They are building numerous parks as the neighborhood gets built out. Neighbors here are generally friendly, and you see a lot of people walking their dogs in the evenings. Great views from select units.

The views are beautiful. I visit the art studios regularly and I recommend open studios. It is near Heron Park and the native plant nursery and the lawn mower goats. It is beautiful over there. Go on a nice day or for open studios

Bayview Hunters Point is quickly changing. What once was a cease pool of contaminated grounds, now have tiny ( 1200 as feet ) million dollars condos/ homes across the street from the projects. However, there is private transportation for the home owners and they housing development does a great job of hiding the fact that you still can't come outside at night and you must always lock your doors and cars.
