We show up to the Elk Grove location, no door identification of where they are located within the building. We called the number and were told by appointment only, this was not stated on their frontpage and only found on second page. This is after we drove 45 miles. The whole experience with Skyline homes both in Woodland and Factory Direct (a dealership for skyline) Elk Grove was far less than satisfactory. I will be going elsewhere.

By far top 10 worse buying decisions I have ever made. This company along with cousin Gary, will leave you confused, stressed out, upset and flat out feeling taking advantage of. I’ve heard every excuse from this company and it’s distributors. You have been warned. Stay tf away from these people and anyone that sells their homes, you have been warned.

Not impressed and would not choose to do business with them again. Some specific issues with our home: no one bothered to do any type of walk through or quality check to test and ensure systems were working properly - which some did not; wood trim not properly primed or moisture proofed. The entire place was painted in a thin coat of flat paint, flat paint is not appropriate for bathrooms and kitchens. There have been electrical issues and problems with the flooring, among others. We have paid elecctricians and plumbers and today a window and door company to fix problems they didn't fix. To be clear I came into the picture after my husband had started the process so I don't know all the details about what went into the contract, etc. But I personally know 2 other people who have homes built by Skyline and they have had plenty of problems as well. Even with all the problems we gave them numerous chances to come out and correct things - we found they are not easy to work with. Promises to come but not show up or promise to send a missing doorknob that never appears. We did get a man to come out once to look at the paint peeling off the quarter round trim and he accused me if using too much water when I mopped. I showed him it came off when the broom touched it but he denied any responsibility on their part. Seriously, look elsewhere or be prepared for many headaches.

Purchased our home after losing everything in the Carr fire. We have had nothing but problems with it. Very poor quality. Missing a lot of details like light switch etc... now we have a leak on the roof where they forgot to put a 2 dollar part. Our refrigerator does not even fit in the recessed spot it belongs in as they put the door to the laundry room in wrong spot. So much more wrong. They have no quality control. I would never recommend Skyline homes.

The home itself is not bad but as time goes by (within 1 year) you start to see the problems. Cabinets are cheap and seem rushed to put together, within months staples and glue started separating. Caulking was done horribly and I have had to redo it in both bathrooms. Countertops are not level and done with very cheap material. The bathtub had a half inch gap where it mounts which had to be sealed with silicone. Lights weren't installed in all the sockets, I had to add at least 1 bulb in each fixture in the house. Doors in the house drag badly on the carpet making it hard to close and open, they had to be removed and cut. Other problems arose but as with all the others I was able to fix though should not of had to. The worst thing was dealing with their customer service and service people. Getting a hold of them was next to impossible, you immediately get transferred to leave a message. Once you've left several messages you may get a call back. Took them me calling 4 or 5 times leaving messages and about 2 weeks to get a call back. Once that happened they set up an appointment almost 2 months out. When the day came they did most the work and said they would be back the next day to finish, but they never showed up and never called. After many calls and finally getting another appointment set up they didn't show up and didn't call. That happened twice and then finally they came out and finished. Overall just a horrible company to actually deal with.

HORRIBLE!!!! Poor quality of construction. A poor interior and exterior paint job. Cracks all through the interior of the drywall. No quality control whatsoever at the factory. I would not recommend. No call back when you leave messages. Save your money and look elsewhere.

We had a manufactured home installed and have been occupying it for the last 90 days. Upon initial impressions, the house seems nice and well built, but the devil is in the details. The cabinets throughout the home are poorly constructed. The doors on multiple cabinets don't close properly, impinging on one another. Ive tried using the adjustment screw with no success. Its as if the hinges were improperly located during construction. If you buy one of these homes, be sure to crawl under the home and inspect the underbelly after they install the siding. When I crawled under the home, there were three large tears in the moisture barrier plastic causing insulation to fall out from under the home, creating a portal of entry for vermin and moisture. The tears were caused by the installation crew shoving the towing/shipping tongues under the home haphazardly. Additionally, inspect the water heater relief valve pipe and AC condenser run off pipe. Both pipes terminated underneath the home, causing an enormous amount of moisture buildup. Before I ran the pipes out from underneath the home, the humidity in the crawl space would have been severely damaging to the exposed framing cause by the torn moisture barrier. Inspect all clean out access panels that are supposed to be secured under the home. The panel beneath our kitchen sink was missing. They only allow you to select from a variety of matte paints for the interior and the paint is cheap. I have children with grimy hands that like to touch walls and when you attempt to clean them with even a slightly moist towel, the paint comes off the wall. Repaint before you move in! One of the toilets float valves failed within one day of move in due to excess debris and sediment in the pipes during installation. I had to remove the floats on both toilets and the screens on all faucets to run the water and clear the pips. The master bath sinks had no caulking applied on the mirror side of the sinks or backsplash. The door fixtures and knobs are cheap with the locks failing after a month of use. Also, you may have to be creative when it comes to ventilation of the home. The back bedrooms don't equalize with the rest of the home; meaning it could be 78F in the living room and 82 in the bedrooms and conversely it could be 68F in the LR and 60F in the BR's. The unfortunate part about this is the thermostat is located by the bedrooms so its only detects ambient temperatures from the most poorly ventilated spaces within the home. If you don't install a window mounted air circulator, your AC will run all summer, despite the rest of the home reaching your desired temperature. A lot of the larger windows are a pain to close and secure, requiring rocking and varying pressures on the face of the window to get it to close. Most of the light fixtures were loose and required re tightening. We're also experiencing poor draining from the master bath (poor pitch on drain pipe?). In summary, I think structurally, the house is well built, however the daily use aspects of the home are problem ridden. As for the "15 month" warranty, know that starts from when the house was DELIVERED and not necessarily when you move in. We had a cabinet door replaced that was damaged during installation and it took six weeks for a work order that simple to be completed. I fear that any of these more complicated discrepancies will be rode out by the manufacturer until maturation of the "warranty."

I gave 1 star because it won't let me do ZERO stars. DO NOT PURCHASE A SKYLINE HOME! I AM STILL UNDER WARRANTY and they WON'T FIX ANYTHING! I had a cardboard fold-out Barbie house when I was little that was better constructed than this heap of scrap. I purchased my Skyline home through Sierra Homes in Placerville. During the entire purchase Sierra Homes did nothing but RAVE about what a quality home Skyline builds. ALL LIES.
Let's start with the kitchen cabinets which are CROOKEDLY installed. It was the VERY FIRST THING I noted on my walk-thru. Mentioned it numerous times yet Skyline will not fix.
LOUD and MOVING floors. Rattles the grates on the stove and dishes in my china hutch! Thought when I placed my furniture that this would go away but NO.
WORST PAINT JOB EVER! Baseboards oozed adhesive that turned yellow. Where the walls meet the ceiling the paint does not meet. Splattered paint on floors and cabinets. Wallboard tape peeling everywhere. Skyline says they won't fix these things.
Lost water pressure in two of my faucets - construction debris in both and Skyline says this is a homeowner fix. Did the homeowner leave construction debris in the lines? I think not!
Kitchen faucet (double knobs) "moaned" upon turning on. Lucky for me the Fix-it guy replaced the faucet with a single-knob unit I had already purchased because I think he took pity on me when he kept saying, "Skyline won't fix (whatever) because YOU BOUGHT THE ECONOMY MODEL." The Fix-it guy referred to my shack as "the economy model" no less than 3 times. Apparently anyone who bought anything under $200,000 is considered not worthy of Skyline's time. Note the Fix-it guy is NOT a Skyline employee, but an independent contractor hired by Skyline.
Worst customer service since AT&T. Had to call numerous times and only got voice mail. They would NEVER return my calls! FINALLY asked to speak to a supervisor. Even after a month of calls and emails he said there was NO SERVICE TICKET OPEN FOR ME.
I have to plunge my 2 toilets on average twice a month - each. I live alone so it's not a matter of stuff that's not supposed to be going down there, going down there! Skyline won't even look into this.
The "septic odor" I keep smelling outside and from my kitchen drain Fix-it guy said is coming from the venting. He said Skyline won't fix and suggested I buy a charcoal filter to install on the roof vents. So Skyline prefers that this 62-year old gal climb onto the roof to fix this problem. I had an earth-mover guy come out to level an area near my house and he smelled the septic odor outside and ACTUALLY ASKED ME, "Is this by chance a Skyline home?" I said, "YES! HOW DID YOU KNOW?" And he said, "I've had to fix venting problems with many of their homes."
The Fix-it guy did get under the house to shim up the shower-pan floor because it had "dipped" enough that when the shower drained, there would still be a little puddle there. The dip is fixed but the shower still rocks back and forth when moving about in it, and the texture has cracked all around it, proving there's too much movement in the floor.
Texture has cracked everywhere in this house and Sierra Homes said that it will occur from transporting the house but that Skyline will fix it all. Sierra Homes said, "Live in the house a while and then take note of everything that needs repairs and Skyline will fix it." Again, they lie. Oh! And just this past weekend I pulled out the top kitchen drawer and the drawer fell backwards. Upon inspection I saw the bracket had fallen from the back wall. Why? Because it was never screwed in in the first place! I took out all the drawers and found screws on the floor. There are NO HOLES so it's not a matter of screws falling out - they were never screwed in. Skyline builds a crappy house.
