5 stars doesn't do them justice - in a word, my experience working with SFP can be summarized as exceptional.

I hired them for help after firing my previous consultant for doing a poor job pulling permits from The City of Oakland. True to their name, SFP places a premium on communication & accountability to give their clients peace of mind in permit consultation/expediting services.

For those who are unaware, Oaklands planning & building department is notoriously incompetent to work and a simple google or yelp search will validate everything I'm saying while giving you nightmares after reading the horror stories others have had to go through.

The price for their services was beyond reasonable for the level of support I received.

I would not have been able to get through the City's planning & building department without the help of SFP. I would also like to use this to specifically shoutout Megan for her tenacious attitude and kind spirit as we both battled Oakland together. The CEO, Andrew, has put together a brilliant team and I count myself lucky to have experienced their service.

While I am confident Service First may deliver value for money on large commercial projects, they are pretty much useless for residential. I engaged them to assist with a small project in the hopes their experience and expertise would make navigating Building & Zoning easier and quicker. Unfortunately, the reverse was true. Their services provided no value whatsoever. Essentially I paid over $2,000 for someone to file permits with no regard to potential denials/rejections, which is exactly what transpired. The final straw was discovering our recent re-submission had been denied by contacting the City myself, as Service First had failed to make this discovery on their own.
