We had a fantastic experience working with SCS Building and Repair. Their communication was excellent from start to finish—clear, timely, and always professional. The crew on-site was hardworking, respectful, and efficient.

This was a big job - they had to come, tear out all of the flooring of our entire lower level, cut out a foot of drywall and studs and prep it for new drain tile done by another company, then when that was finished, they came back to replace the drywall and studs and lay all new flooring. The timing was smooth and efficient and the two companies worked well together, requesting additional meetings to make sure everyone was on the same page.

As a nonprofit, we deeply appreciated that they provided us with a fair quote and even went above and beyond by including several extras to make sure we could get back to full operations quickly and smoothly. It’s clear that SCS truly cares about the people and communities they serve.

Highly recommend them for any repair or construction needs—reliable, honest, and just all-around great to work with!

We hired SCS Building & Remodeling to repair a backsplash that was badly damaged by a stone installer. They also retiled an area that was exposed after we replaced the microwave. I thought this was a tricky job because of cutting out drywall in strips and fitting in replacement vintage tiles that were not the same exact size as the existing tile. The techs Gabe and Carlos did an outstanding job, far exceeding my expectations! I can hardly believe how good it looks. The backsplash is now the best feature in the kitchen. No one could tell it was a repair job. I would definitely use SCS again.

Replaced our porch's combination screens with double pane windows and a screen door for an insulated steel exterior door. My 3 season porch became a very nice, warm insulated year-round space. We love the work quality and staff efficiency of SCS! Reasonably priced, too.

High quality work. You pay for it, but really get what you pay for.

I had some beautificaiton work that needed doing in my (finished) basement. I needed to cover the maintenance port for my furnace with a door in a really awkward size and location, and cover my breaker box with a panel to make it look nicer. The guy who came by did fast, and high quality work, and left the place very clean. They also recommended an access panel for the breaker box so that future installations could take place without needing to rip a hole in the wall/ceiling (again).

Also had them repair some finishing on the outside of the house. Once again they recommended something different from what I had in mind, an in both cases I'm glad that I differed to their expertise.

I will be returning to SCS for future repairs and remodels when I need them.

** Update from about a year later **
I am still so pleased with the previous work that was done on my home, that when I found new repairs needing to be done on the exterior of my house, SCS was the first and only place that I called. To boot, I was going to be unavailable at home for a while, and SCS is the only company I would trust to do high quality workmanship without me being present. Icing on the cake is that the new job was finished under budget. A+ integrity.

Outstanding performance by SCS! The project required taking up quite a bit of existing flooring in order to replace damaged & buckling LVP flooring planks on the other side of a room where my 557 pound grand piano sits. Other contractors said the piano must be moved out of the room. I said that cannot happen - I do not want anyone to try to lift that weight load out of the protective cups and roll it out of the room. Phil, Operations Manager, and Natalie, Administrative Assistant, were responsive and patient with my concerns - I never had to wait for an answer. Brent, SCS owner, inspected the damage and said we can do it. And they did. Project manager Conner and Technician Liam did a beautiful job, completed within 4 hours. You would never know.

SCS was referred to me after another contractor botched up a job. They responded to my email quickly, gave me a fair estimate quickly and did a great job. They took their time to protect my carpets and floors while they were working. I plan on using them for more renovations in my home.

**Update - I used them again for new floor in my entry, kitchen and living room, new counter top, pantry doors, backsplash, removal of above range microwave with new vent installation.
I have been very pleased working with the SCS team. The gentlemen that were working here were polite and friendly. They worked hard every day. Even though there was work going on, I never felt like my house was a dirty mess. Their communication was great and they lead me through the process. I speak very highly of SCS when I tell my friends what company is working on my kitchen. Next up will be my bedroom/master bath complete gut and they will be the company I call.

Charged me $4,000 to remove old concrete steps and build these 3 steps with railing. Told me it would have cost the same to build over the old steps which was a blatant lie to get more money out of me. Told them needed railing for porch, sent pics of entire porch and the quote stated "handrailing". Apparently i was wrong for thinking $4,000 would include handrailing for the entire porch. Apparently all you can get for $4,000 nowadays is 3 steps and handrailing for the steps. Stay away from these guys. They will overcharge you and screw you over and not care at all about your money or house.

We've hired SCS twice and have been very happy with their work! Not only do they get back to us in a timely manner, but they are punctual and the work is done very well! Very professional!! I loved that Mike told me "I will treat your home as if it were mine."
I won't call any other contractor again!
