WARNING ⚠️ Do not use this company!!!
Not only they give you a false starting date. The Quality of their work and the material they use is extremely poor. The 1st day after completion of my fence there were several issues. Dealing with the owner Josh was nothing but a lot of bullshit and false promises. I trusted what Josh was telling me that he would do me right and deal with my concerns. All he did was put me off until the next season and the next , keeping false promises. To make a long story short I got tired of dealing with him. I took The lost and hired a Professional company to totally replace my fence, that's how bad my fence was. The new company that came in couldn't believe that after only 4 years that my fence looked like it did. Not only that when the new company pulled the old post out more than half the post didn't have concrete in the hole. Get this 3 or 4 of the post were only put in about a 1 foot.

I am writing this to warn the public about this company and share my story. These photos of my fencing were taken only 9 months after installation! I had them hired to install 2 dog play yards. My partner and I are dog breeders of Cane Corsos and Shepherds. These are very valuable dogs I might add. They range between 70 to 150 pounds. The owner had seen them and was aware that they were large and powerful dogs. The gates were built wrong and right from the start we had to bungi them shut! The wire used, we found out later, was one of the weakest gauges you can purchase! This gauge of wire would be best used for chickens or Toy Poodles. The gauge of wire was so weak that they could not stretch it or it would have snapped! This stretching is imperative and is a must for dog fencing! Due to not being stretched, huge gaps opened up at the bottom and the top of the fence line was then loose and swaying with unstable wrinkling. Soon the dogs chewed holes into it as well! It looks like we kept Lions and Tigers within it! We are constantly patching yet another area that is destroyed! We had, as well, initially paid for a partial privacy fence, but changed that into having wood running the top and bottom of the fencing to give it stability and prevent dogs from escaping. That just never happened! We started begging for help from them last fall. They said they would come out.. that never happened as well. This Spring I have pleaded 3 times for their help in correcting this. They don't even respond to me at all anymore! Let me remind you that the fencing in the photos cost me $30,000!!! I don't have the money to hire someone else to fix it...and I should not have to either damn it! I will be posting reviews frequently with new and even more horrific photos. My fencing looks like a hillbilly kennel right now. This does wonders for your property value and even worse are the reactions of puppy buyers. I am totally embarrassed by this. My next steps are Consumer Protection and any review site I can find! I was a business owner as well, and I did not want to, and refrained from even posting this review in the trusting hope they would come through for me. My ethics as a business owner would have made me respond immediately for such a serious complaint as mine. Well, I guess that we don't all have my ethics which I am now sadly finding out!

After building my last few fences with subpar materials from big box stores, I researched fence companies and hired Rock County Fence and Deck. Josh was in my area early so my property got measured quickly and I had a decent quote in my hand in a fortnight. I asked for references and insurance info, both of which were provided. I paid in full and waited patiently in line to have installation. (It's normal for GREAT contractors to be booked out months in advance) Then two gentlemen arrived to measure, run lines, dig holes and install some posts. The day after, Marty Jr, and Manny arrived, finished posts and begun building our cedar picket fence. They both worked diligently and were professional, courteous and respectful. Marty Jr is a skilled craftsman and I loved the result and attention to detail. Our fence is amazing. We had neighbors stopped by, from next door and across the street. We have had comments from people walking by! I'm already planning a deck expansion. It's rare to have a contractor so willing to provide quality materials and professional work, I will be recommending Rock County Fence & Deck to everyone.

Josh Wilks and his team provided excellent service! Not only was the communication exceptional, the results were beyond expectation. I have recommended his Company to my neighbors and friends. Though I know our location is quite a haul from their work area, Josh made sure to fit us in. I greatly appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond! I am writing this review for my mother. She had a survey done and discovered that her property pin (in the front yard) was about 5 feet from where the fence was, in her favor. She asked the surveyor who he would recommend, and she took the recommendation, which happened to be his buddy. So, Rock County Fence came out, gave a bid, $2,890 for 40 feet 6-foot wood fence and 220 lineal feet of 5-foot-tall field wire. She paid half, $1,445, up front, before any work was done.

After a couple conversations with the workers on how to navigate the fence around a large tree, they proceeded to build the fence where the old one was. My mother then called the company, and Josh (owner) showed up and proceeded to yell at her, as if it was her fault. She offered to show him the survey, to which he replied, "I know how to read a survey!". After that he offered that she only pays half of the second half (the other $1,445) to leave the fence in the wrong location, as is. She declined this offer. And he never returned her call as he said he would in person.

After trying to get back in touch with Josh to resolve this, he refuses to return her calls.

*UPDATE* 8/30/2020

Regarding the response of my review of Rock County fence and deck:
There was already a fence in place along the assumed the property line, that fence had been there for many years prior. A survey was paid for and performed to locate where the property line was. The intent behind building a new fence, was to enclose all the owner’s property, which the taxes are paid on. Rock County fence and deck did NOT haul away any of the old fence. On the first day the crew did not set any posts, they only took down the existing fence. The crew was thanked for their work.
There was no phone call made in the following week regarding location of posts. It was assumed that this “professional” company would properly place said posts in the correct location. The crew had to be corrected by the homeowner about how the fence panel from the side was supposed to be transferred to the front, to the new property line location. One of the crew members did ask about navigating the fence around a tree. But placed the fence in a location that was not agreed upon. While under the assumption that the fence was being constructed according to contract, there was no follow up for quality control, by either party. As a courtesy to not be ungrateful the crew was thanked for their work.
Josh W. did show up, unannounced, on a Saturday afternoon to collect payment. The neighbor had asked why the fence was not where it was supposed to be. Which was followed up in question by the owner. At this point Josh W. (owner of Rock County fence and deck) began to scream and yell at the customer.
Payment was never “refused”. The offer talked about in my first review was declined (half of final payment). A month later a message was left for Josh, two weeks later he returned the call. He began ranting and raving and not letting her get a word in edge wise. So, the customer ignored his return call that same day. His call was returned later that day, after a short period to try and let him “cool down”. At this time, he was “not available”. Two days later a message was left for Josh W. to simply walk away from the ordeal, as no one was going to end up happy.
On July 20, Josh W. called to confirm the “walk away”. At this point in time he proceeded to tell her that she was using false information to write a bad review. The customer then hung up the phone and blocked the phone number.

You can see in the fence images where the wood fence is correctly placed along the property line, and the wire fence is then jogged over from the property line, on top of the old fence location.

Paid in full and they said they would put our fence in October, we have called dozens of times, no callback. Facebook messages have gone unanswered also! I feel they took advantage of the tornado and took my money! I’m going there in person and demanding a refund and if not filing a lawsuit against them! I’m so mad they promise a discount if you pay in advance and then hide from you! Someone better call me back! If I can I would file a police report, because this is theft!

There is no button for negative reviews or scammers!
I paid for my fence in full on November 8 with the promise that it would be installed by the end of November. I have been calling, texting and emailing with no response. DO NOT give them any money! I paid $5272! I have to now contact BBB, WI DATP and file small claims which I will never see my money! This is scammer 101 and I know better to check reviews and CCAP! Yes there is a lot on CCAP!
