Consider RB Construction for your home remodeling or construction needs. Working with Rafael Barajas and his team in San Francisco was a delightful experience. The craftsmanship is top-notch, the process was well-managed, and the communication was constant. Our remodel was completed on time and within budget, and we are extremely satisfied with the outcome. This can be attributed to the team's culture, strong relationships with vendors and craftspeople, regular communication with us, detailed estimate, expert project planning, and ability to handle unexpected issues. Despite my initial hesitation, I am now considering working with RB Construction again for future projects.

We have done two projects with Rafael and his team (RB Construction). Our first project was a small dry rot repair which turned out to be a serious structural problem that was caused by the previous owner not hiring a proper contractor to perform the house extension. To add more problems, the house had termites previously and nothing was done to repair the termite rot that had gotten into some core structural beams. Rafael and his team were able to repair all of these problems in a timely fashion and with high quality to prevent this type of issue happening again.

The second project was much more straightforward. The city had cited us with a sidewalk repair. After our previous experience with RB Construction, Rafael was the first person I called to get the job done. He handled all of the city permits and was able to make all of the repairs in just a few days time!!

My wife and I are extremely grateful has to have found Rafael and RB Construction and we will be using them for all future contractor work we may need!

Rafael did a fantastic job! We discussed my problem of water coming up through my foundation. He was very knowledgeable and was the only one of three proposals that suggested to remove the concrete floor, install a drainage system that emptied into the sump pump basin, and re-concrete the floor. He also was knowledgable of building code and agreed to lift my water heater up on a platform 18" off the floor. While doing the work, he also noticed small puddling whenever I ran the washing machine - turns out he discovered a crack in my sewer lateral (that I am having remedied) as well. I was so pleased with his work I decided to just go ahead and replace my 30 yr+ old furnace as well - which his team did - which required some changes to meet code from my existing setup as well as new wiring to support smart thermostats. Rafael and his team are trustworthy, courteous, and timely - they work full days, pay attention to detail - made sure to put plastic up to keep dust contained, and communicate in a helpful manner. His bid was in line with the others I received but the scope of work was much more complete to address my problem. Thanks Rafael for your excellent work!

I highly recommend Rafa and his team at RB Construction. Rafa was always on time and early, and coming to the job site every day of the week until the job is done. He kept things tidy, works fast while ensuring everything is solid and of good quality. His workmanship is impeccable. When we had miscommunications or disagreements, he worked with us to ensure we came to an agreement that worked for both. Doing work on a house is always a terrible experience and finding a good contractor is a tough call. RB will make the whole process as pleasant as it gets. RB was the sub on framing only for half of our remodel and we liked his work so much that we hired him as the GC on the second half of our remodel which involved significant structural and foundational work, as well as all plumbing, electrical and finishes.

Rafael Barajas at RB Construction repaired a post in our basement that had eroded. This was structural work that required multiple inspections. Rafael was very responsive and easy to communicate with, left the workspace clean and orderly daily, and we passed all the inspections without any issues.

Rafael and his team were a pleasure to work with. They replaced an entire exterior wall in a very narrow space, replaced an exterior door, and repainted. They also managed to fix the siding on the side of the house that is adjacent to the neighbor's house. As with any contracting job, additional work was discovered while doing the in-scope work, but Rafael was professional and compassionate when the bid needed to be revised. His prices are fair, and he is honest and trustworthy. He always respected our space by keeping his tools and materials very neat and tidy when he wasn't there, and he left the place spotless when the work was complete. Additionally, when things came up after the work was complete, as they will, he made a point to come out to take care of them. Rafael really takes pride in his work. Highly recommended.

Rafael is very knowledgeable, professional and fast. We had wall rot on an exterior wall and he walked us thru all the steps and fixed our house. No project is without unforeseeable issues, which we had ….including discovery of termite rot, a poorly supported extension of a room at the back of the house, (just all around poor craftsmanship from the previous installer). They repaired all the work we needed in a timely manner. Thank you
