We selected Rangel Concrete to build a new retaining wall and steps in our backyard. We reviewed multiple contractors, arranged site visits, and received 4 bids. When we got the bid and schedule from Rangel, they were our first choice. We are happy to report that Rangel was the right choice.

We needed to replace a cracking, root-ravaged cinder-block 30+ feet long, 5' 3" tall retaining wall and steps leading up to our terraced backyard. We had engineered plans for a cast concrete wall. We need a contractor interested in working with the plans and the city. Our meeting with Rangel gave us confidence that they understood the project and would be pleasant to work with. They provided a very competitive bid and were available to start the project in time to ensure that it was completed by the end of summer. Some contractors would not commit to a timeframe or estimated that it would take more time to complete than seemed reasonable.

Francisco and his crew began work at 7:00 each morning and worked hard the entire day with just one much needed lunch break. Rangel had all the necessary equipment for this sizable project. They removed the old wall and dirt, dug a new trench, installed rebar, stirrups, ties, drain rock, waterproof membrane, built forms for the new cast concrete wall, etc. The site was kept as clean as possible.

Francisco was very pleasant to work with. He persistent and creative in bringing the plans to life with forms and rebar. He made useful suggestions, was very communicative, and was clearly committed to the outcome. Maria kept us up to date, communicated well with the city inspector, and was delightful to work with. We recommend Rangel Concrete highly.

It is perfectly level and square, which allowed my garage door contractor to install my gorgeous carriage doors. The crew was super fast, efficient and friendly. Her basic knowledge of ASL (sign language) definitely made communication much easier and pleasant. Truly impressed with the skill, efficiency and professionalism of Francisco (owner) and his crew. The fact that Francisco was fully hands on the whole time gave me a sense of confidence. They finished just before projected completion date and did a thorough clean up as well. Can't stop looking at our new patio from upstairs window - for concrete, it really is beautiful!

It's a noisy, dusty, and laborious project to replace a driveway, especially in a residential neighborhood with houses so nearby. While there were a few minor bumps in the process, all were handled quickly and courteously. These guys are great. They can and will move mountains for you. Like with all contractors, it is a good idea to stick around and make sure that the work is being done exactly to your specifications, but they were happy to work with me and I could tell that they cared. I especially appreciate all the extras they threw in, like pouring me a new walkway when I just expected them to tunnel under the existing one, assisting me greatly with a side project of running some electrical conduit under the concrete, and giving me a some new work gloves when my old ones got holes in them!
