Radtke destroyed the drainage in my yard due to their negligence. They refused to correct the damage they did. They are not a good company

The town in which I live contracts with Radtke Contractors to plow the roads. Today, I watched one of their plow drivers hit my mailbox and then proceed to hit two more after mine. The driver turned around and spoke with me. He laughed about mailbox hunting and claimed he couldn't see the road (it wasn't snowing and the mailboxes were clearly visible) and something about the truck not being ready. The plow then came back through and hit our mailbox again. I drove down a mile and a half portion of our road and counted at least 8 mailboxes that had been clearly been hit (several had been severely damaged). I am not sure if the driver was impaired, incompetent, or just doing it on purpose but if I had a larger project, I am not sure I would trust Radtke Contractors if these are the people they are hiring to operate their machinery.

I've lived in the Fox Cities for 25+ years, and have had two docks + lifts built by Schmidt, and one dock + lift built by Radtke. I regret my decision to have Radtke build anything for me.

The Radtke employees that built the dock were professional, kind, and responsive over the course of the week that they worked on my property. The office staff was also kind, right up until they received the $50K payment for their work. However, that changed once they received the payment.

In the first two years after the lift was built, I was only able to use it for five months because it was inoperable the rest of the time due to faulty construction decisions by Radtke. The owner was rude and condescending when I tried to speak with him to remedy the situations, and he would provide wildly inaccurate timing estimates on when they would come out to look at the lift, blame others like the DNR or Army Corps of Engineers, or he and his staff would ignore my calls and emails altogether. It's incredibly frustrating to spend that amount of money to try and create memories for your family, only to find out the lift is inoperable, and then be misled and mistreated during the process of trying to remedy it.

I've spoken to a number of homeowners and businesses on Lake Winnebago, and many have described the owner as entitled and unresponsive based on his perception that Radtke is the only option in the area. He does what he wants when he wants, and cares little about the customer once Radtke receives payment.

I finally got my lift fixed, but by another company. I regret paying Radtke to do anything. I had the opposite experience both times I worked with Schmidt - the product did what it was supposed to and I was treated respectfully throughout the process.

Do your homework before you decide to have a dock or lift installed - talk to other people who have had it done. Visit marinas. See what they have to say about the experience before, during, and after the work was done. Spend some time on the lakes and rivers in the area and make note of the Radtke-built docks that are jacked up and in various states of disrepair.

Ultimately, make your own judgment before spending a significant amount of money - there are multiple choices for docks and lifts in the Fox Cities. You don't have to make the same mistake I did.

Ok everyone here's the deal I was totally wrong on a previous post regarding Radtke contractors. I was waiting for a bid and thought I hadn't received it. Turns out they sent it to me the next day. I should have checked my Spam location and I didn't. I want to personally apologise to Radtke contractors for my previous post which has been deleted. I always try to be fair with my reviews and this was totally unfair to them.

Unethical company and owner.

Radtke built a dock for me on Lake Winnebago back in 2012. Extremely disappointed in how the owner treats me when I've spoken to him about adding on to the dock to accommodate my kayaks and pontoon. I've been cordial with him in trying to get work done but when I speak with him by phone he shouts at me, calls me names, and generally speaks in very condescending tone.

I recently did some research on other companies to help me with additions to my dock, and came across public records that show the fines Radtke has incurred from local governments over the years for illegal work they've done (google "radtke contractors fines" - multiple articles show illegal activity and resultant fines from 2008-2018). Wish I would have known this sooner - I would have preferred to work with an ethical company and owner.

Extremely rude owner When I went to call the owner if he worked on the sea wall in Omro. before I could even explain what happened when I said I had a complaint he hung up on me. Then threaten a law suit due to poor rating, his workers were NOT the workers that tormented my grandchild it was the city worker. Regardless, before I could even state or ask the situation the owner slam the phone on me. I did call back and ask for somebody else but I was told he is the highest up he is the owner so it was verified by the person that answers the phone. So his workers are not the ones that approached my grandson but the owner is the rude man I spoke to on the phone that rather hang up then hear the full story.

They obviously don't follow the laws driving on the highway since they don't put the cover over their load on as they're driving on the highway. They better hope we have no cracks in our windshield or dents in our hood from the amount of rocks that flew off and hit our window and van! Common courtesy for the rest of us! Radtke, you don't own the road!
