I have been working with PMI Northwest Houston to manage our rental home in Katy since September 2022. We live in Upstate NY and cannot be onsite. They immediately worked with a local realtor to find a tenant within two weeks which they vetted and made sure was a good fit for the property. They have worked closely with the tenant over a nine-month period to collect rental payments and deal with any concerns raised by us or the tenant. Please read. I allowed this company to lease and manage my property from December 2022. I did a thorough research on companies and chose this one mainly because they were willing to help me rent my property before other my tenants moved out, which I learned to regret. It’s always better to wait until tenants officially move out.
Anyway, I saw so many red flags throughout the process that made me reconsider my choice. My experience is from speaking with Rehan who also goes by Ray and Ahsan who goes by Ash.
- overall communication was very poor. I had trouble being on the same page with them for scheduling and other things. They way they communicate is defensive.
- they never told me that my tenants have a dog! I found out via a notification from the community.
- I tried to terminate the contract/relationship multiple times. When I finally did, they charged me $280 although I had explicitly requested and spoke with Rehan about not charging a termination fee. He told me he would remove it from the contract. He crossed out the second part of the statement which read “OR pay $2XX.” The first part said pay twice the amount of rent management fee. So they ended up charging me that. This really hurt because I spoke to him about it and he plainly told me he there wouldn’t be any termination fee and I could terminate the contract at anytime. I still preferred to terminate the contract rather than being in an untrustworthy relationship.
- sadly it’s been a month since I terminated the contract and I still haven’t received the security deposit.

Previous to PMI Houston, Shannon management was managing my property and they did a great job. The only reason I went for something else is because they didn’t want to rent my property before the other tenants left, now understand why. I do recommend them if you’re looking for a trustworthy company to manage your property.
