I attempted the engage Pentoir for a small remodeling project in my restaurant. Initial bid came in higher than we expected, but we accepted a revised bid. They never responded for requests for a start date; I waited almost 2 weeks on repeated promises to call back in ‘20 minutes’. Had to get another contractor. If they didn’t want to do the job, they should have just said so, and not wasted my time.

I scheduled a consultation for a remodel project - a couple of window replacements, a couple of door replacements, deck repair, hardwoods refinished etc. for a rental apartment. During the walk through I explained that my budget was $30,000 for the project. I asked Al (the representative they sent over) if that was within the realm of possibility. He assured me the work I was having done could be completed within my budget. I waited for 6 weeks to receive my quote. While Al took the time to add on a few line items he mansplained would be "good investments" he failed to include a critical repair - my deck. The quote he delivered (sans deck) was for $143,000. That's right -- nearly 5x the budget I gave him. I'm not sure if it's the fact that I'm a woman, that I moved here from San Francisco or that Al is incapable of listening when being spoken to but I'd advise against anyone working with a company whose behavior is not only predatory but also a Herculean waste of time.
