My company did business with PCL as a vendor and it was a nightmare. They agree to contract number and then after the job is complete they send change orders over saying they owe you less than you agreed upon and they will not pay you your final balance unless you agree to the lower price. As a small company this is devastating and totally unethical. If you own a company and are thinking of doing business with PCL I would think again. These guys are the worst.

I am working on a project that was encrouching half centimillion. I was responsible for scouting potential construction managers. I found PCL as potential construction manager as well rounded for the project I am working with.

I have tried calling multiple offices. Emailing Joe Carrieri and even got reference to call Craig Glastetter. When I called Craig, I was only met with attitude without even considering or having the openness to understand what I was trying to convey what I am looking for. In fact, he interrupted me and stated that they don't do jobs at my caller id location without even asking where the project was!

I have officially crossed out PCL from the potential vendor list as this is unacceptable at a professional level. As much I like to email PCL, the website is just don't offer any real way to communicate anything outside of a online form. So I am using this medium to communicate my experience.

Improperly kept construction site, not up to code, not disposing of environmental hazards properly (asbestos), let their site become a public dump and then moved materials to neighbors yards for them to deal with

One would think that a construction company as big as PCL would care about safety. Sadly this does not appear to be the case. I just followed one of their trucks from I25 to Wadsworth with traffic backed up behind him the entire way. Apparently he never heard slower traffic keep right, because as car after car wove around him, some dangerously, he was just obvious to the world. When I called the office to report it, the gal that answered could not have cared less. If you don't have the truck number and driver's name, there is nothing we can do about it. Really? You can't tell your supervisors she are driving trucks with your name plastered on them to drive courtesiouly? I'm not sure who damaged your reputation more, the poor driver or the surely phone gal.

Watch out for the bait and switch. If you like to be lied to then this is the place for you. They have you fill out goals for yourself 3 and 6 months, but give you no guidance or opportunities; you will hear a plethora full of excuses and people you should talk to but it all ends in a wild goose chase. If by some miracle you do get an opportunity they only do it for a day or two just to placate you. They treat their craft people like trash, as if they were uneducated and incompetent. Condescending, passive aggressive, is there communication style. They believe that buying pizza is the way you show appreciation for the hard work that everybody does ; but fail to give out raises or bonuses to deal with the cost of living and gas prices. The only ones that get special treatment are the PMs, PEs, superintendents. The work life balance is so out of balance it’s pathetic. They pretend like your family is the most important thing until it’s not.

Do you enjoy tailgating people during a snowstorm in a company truck? PCL is right for you. BIF-019 driver you are an overly aggressive driving jerk.

I witnessed one of their trucks (white Ford pickup OLE-720) driving aggressively and making a dangerous passing move through an intersection. If this is how they drive, I would never trust them with my business.

Edit April 2020: Recently noticed the same truck speeding excessively through Lyons.

We have bailed them out of their own problems on multiple occasions only to have them not pay us and many others.
I would highly recommend steering clear of these crooks.
