We used Fredy to help remodel our 100 year old beach cottage. It needed to be retrofitted to withstand an earthquake some other minor details

Our initial meeting went great I thought. We laid out what we wanted and Fredy told us what we could and couldn’t do. He told us he could have the plans done pretty quickly and we were happy with how it was going until..

We wanted to add a skylight and asked Fredy about it. He quickly said we couldn’t and gave no real explanation why. So we did a little research, asked another engineer and found out it was possible. When we called to ask Fredy about it he YELLED AT MY WIFE and basic said not to question him. It seemed Fredy didn’t want to do the extra work to look into it. He ended up adding it after I had another conversation with him. It’s not over..

Once we finally get the plans and turn them into the City for review they get sent back to us. FREDY MESSED UP NORTH AND SOUTH! It then took him over 2 weeks to correct it! THIS COST US OVER 10K DOLLARS because the project was held up and we had to keep paying the mortgage

FREDY MESSED UP OUR PLANS 2 MORE TIMES AND COST US OVER 20K DOLLARS IN MORTGAGE PAYMENTS AND MONTHS OF IDLE TIME

Please don’t be fools by the 5 star reviews. If you are in the market for a good, timely and competent engineer I suggest you look elsewhere

Fredy is an incredible professional. My agent helped me find him for an urgent structural review needed in my garage as my house was completing escrow. Out of five engineers consulted, Fredy was by far the best communicator, provided options and ideas that others did not even mention, had my interests and cost savings at the forefront, provided extremely fast turnaround on his calculations, paperwork and design drawing. It accomplished exactly what it needed to, and much faster than anticipated. Besides all of that, Fredy is really just a fantastic person on a human level. So easy and great to work with. I could not recommend anyone higher.
