I met Mike Quinn months before we started our project and the time and energy he put into that first meeting was the same as the time and energy he put into our entire project. He has always been very responsive! They put together a WhatsApp text string and when we had any question/concern or request we would text and most of the time there was a response almost immediately and if it wasn't immediate it was within a few hours.

Mike's team was thoughtful, respectful and always helpful. Jessica, his project manager, was extremely helpful with starting the project and helping me make decisions as well as making sure all aspects of the project were on time and made sure that I had the materials on hand or at least ordered.

They gave me a list of things that I would need for my project, suggestions on where to buy them as well as passing along the discount that they get at each recommended supplier.

We couldn't be happier with our experience and the end product! His crew worked 6 days a week and the ONLY reason the job wasn't completed on time was that we kept adding projects because we were so very happy with the progress.

Weekly, Jessica or Mike would let us know what to expect for the week and what would be completed.

This entire crew was professional and courteous and we would highly recommend them for any project. As a matter of fact, we have sent several friends and neighbors to them and they are working on a few of those projects as well.

I've added some before and after photos below of the kitchen and then photos of two of the bathrooms that they remodeled. But they also updated our electric panel, installed an Electric car charger, on demand hot water heater, heated floors in the bathrooms, skylights, outside flashing that was causing a leak, resealed and regrouted our paver driveway, fixed our retaining wall and then painted our entire interior - walls, crown molding and ceilings.

You can count on Mike and his team to do a great job. And one more note, of course there were a few minor things that needed to be addressed after the project was completed and they have come back and taken care of everything quickly and efficiently!

When we filed a claim against Mike Quinn’s bond, we were inter-pleaded with someone else suing him on the same bond number. He is not competent and does substandard work.

We hired Mike Quinn to repair a leaking shower at a California Ski Resort. He removed/replaced tile, backboard, replumbed shower heads and valves. One year later the tile in the shower floor cracks. After further inspection we find that the shower floor tiles are floating in mud as they are set with water soluble mastic instead of thinset. Because of the waterproofing issues between the floor and the walls, the entire shower wall tiles and backer board and floor need to be redone. That's when we discover dry rot.

Mike Quinn does not hire competent sub contractors, nor does he stand behind his work. Dealing with him has been an absolute nightmare.

Home improvement projects are generally never easy endeavors for a variety of reasons, but working with Mike and team at Northbay Home over the past year was fantastic, and a lot of fun as we transformed ideas into new features of our home.

We worked with Northbay on several projects over the past year, starting with a guest bathroom remodel, and expanding to some important electrical work and a new fence build that gave us an upgraded look and increased privacy.

The work done by the team was high-quality and top-notch, and delivered within expected timelines. When unexpected things did pop-up, Mike was quick to respond and resolve the issues. And as a result, we are genuinely happy with the final products.

Mike is a true professional, and this is quickly demonstrated by the depth of his knowledge, the quality of his ideas and solutions, and his attention to detail when consulting with customers.

We enjoyed our experiences with Northbay, and would work with them again.

My son's, husband and myself began adding 2 ADU units in July of 2023.
Mike - Northbay Construction was one of the 5 general contractors we interviewed with plans to convert 2 garages into (2) - 2 bedroom - 1 bathroom - 700 square foot apartments in SF. He seemed to be knowledge of the challenges of taking on a project this size on and the knew the workings of the City Building Department.

He quickly gave us a quote. Explain to us we could work with his vendors for cabinets, flooring, plumbing fixtures etc. He said he would finish within 11 months and was right on schedule.
Mike has his own team of sub contractors always ready to start the next project and made a very smooth transitions throughout the project. There were very few days where there was no one working on the project. Every team was dedicated to completing the project as soon as possible. Mike provided excellent communication whether weekly Zoom calls, emails or text. With 4 owners, he worked with all of us making sure we were all updated.
His crews were wonderful to work with and Jessica his assistant was always available for questions and follows up on concerns, keeping us posted on the project and working with all owners.
The detail of the work and finishes was excellent. I would definitely recommend Northbay Construction. They are an excellent team!

We hired Mike and North Bay Home Solutions to repair a bathroom that was leaking into another rental unit below.

I was in Seattle, My mom (owner of unit) was in South Bay Area, rental unit was in ski resort at Lake Tahoe during a record snow season.

Mike gave us a quote which at first we balked at because we thought we were just going to replace the shower floor.

But in order to do it correctly, we found that he also removed wall tiles, correctly water proofed walls (which had not been done before), and correctly sloped shower floor. We felt that we had gotten an incredible deal. We also feel that we will never have problems with that “troublesome” bathroom again.

Highly recommend if you want a great remodel experience. Excellent communicator and follow through. Beautiful workmanship.

Mike and crew are simply the best!!! You couldn't ask for a better contractor. Mike came out after a prior contractor whom I later found out was fake left me without a kitchen and out of money. He and Norm made me feel confident and at ease after the ordeal and had me up and running with a gorgeous new kitchen within a week along with new vanities and toilets in each bathroom. I will sing their praises forever. Go with them, you will not regret it!!!!

We feel very fortunate that Mike Quinn took the time to meet with us and work up a bid on our Truckee remodel project that also became a repair project due to damage from the 2023 snowfall. The quality of work and professionalism of Northbay’s staff was exceptional. Finding a competent, trustworthy contractor to work on a vacation home is like winning the lottery. We will definitely use Northbay Home Solutions for any future projects.

NHS remodeled our 200 square foot kitchen in the fall of 2022. It took 5 weeks. Layout stayed the same. No plumbing or major electrical were moved. Mike made multiple visits prior to the start of the project so we could discuss our vision – communication was great, and things were off to a great start. Our working relationship soured at the end. Here is what we experienced:

1) After multiple site visits, his initial quote for the project did not include the waterfall kitchen counter or the backsplash. It wasn’t until the middle (counter) and end (backsplash) of the project were we upcharged a significant cost for these items that he “left out.” We anticipated extra costs, but these two items were fairly significant and with someone of his experience, we thought this was absolutely negligent and careless.
2) There was a project manager, Jessica. She seemed overwhelmed and made less than weekly visits. The communication between us was fine. When she was not available, there was no one else to sub in. My husband works from home and every morning he had to direct the workers on the plan. I can’t imagine the challenges if he was not at home to guide them.
3) There was an issue with our new fridge not fitting under the custom cabinets that we ordered (Mike will only work with you if you order cabinets through his vendors). Rather than trying to come out and assess the situation, we were told that we would either need to buy a new fridge or order new custom cabinets. Outrageous. Luckily Mike has a competent handyman. Between my husband and the handyman, they worked out a solution so we did not have to waste money on their suggestions to remedy the problem.
4) The electrical outlets along our countertop are not leveled. Some outlets are one inch higher than the others. When asking Mike to fix this, he accused us of being too into “the cosmetics.” His response was that "they work. "
5) Our new sink did not drain. Mike refused to fix this issue. He said “the issues you raised have nothing to do with our work but are rather cosmetics.”
6) The electrician cut the line that feeds into our wall panel heater. He didn’t know what the “Extra cable” was for. We had no idea, because my husband and I are not electricians. Now, our heater in the living room no longer works.
7) Included in Mike's generic scope of estimates, he lists vinyl flooring. Right from the outset, we were clear we did not want vinyl flooring, but rather tile. We knew there was going to be an extra charge and we were OK with that. But due to the poor and careless wording on his estimate, he did not revise the true increase in cost for tile labor until the floors were already ripped out. When we voiced frustration, Mike encouraged us to “go ahead and look for other people to put in the tile.” Again, another huge frustration that was entirely preventable.
8) Prior to work starting, we had asked for a line item of costs. This was never given, which we were fine with since the bulk of the work was quoted. But so many potential costs were never reviewed that by the end of the project, 40% of our bill was from either hidden costs or charges that Mike conveniently left out of the initial quote.

If you have someone onsite to micromanage, if you don’t mind significant hidden costs, then Mike is your guy. This was our first remodel. Spending this kind of cash on your home should warrant us to care about minor details.
