I contacted Dan on October 30 to do some finishing work on our bathroom remodel. We had a tight timeline trying to get everything done so we could move home. Dan sounded nice and professional on the phone he agreed to come out Wednesday November 1st to get started. My husband became wary of Dan when he arrived on Wednesday and spent nearly an hour walking around our house looking at areas of house that weren’t part of the job (our roof, hot water heater and drywall in the basement stairwell) perhaps he didn’t notice that I had just had knee surgery and was limping around when he made me go up and down the stairs. Perhaps he didn’t notice that we were busy with movers trying to move a 72 inch vanity from our garage to the second floor. Perhaps. In any event after the grand tour Dan left. He told my husband he didn’t have his tools. My husband and I were stunned. Dan assured us he would be out the next day to do the work. He arrived the next day twenty minutes late without calling us. One of the jobs we needed done was cutting the vanities before the plumbers arrived. We had expected that to be done on Wednesday. Now with Dan so late he was throwing a wrench into our plans. I left to drop of my kids at school came back with a sick kid at 9:20 and he was gone. The job wasn’t even finished. He said he would come back and finish on Friday. Then on Friday he said he could come out on Monday. Then on Monday he said Wednesday. I texted him saying this wasn’t reliable and we needed the job done. He texted back rude sexist remarks saying that women never know when to stop. I filed a complaint against his with the BBB. I would stay far away from this misbehaving handyman. He’s more trouble than he’s worth.
