Stay away. We signed our lease on Saturday and by Monday afternoon, we received an email saying " the owners decided to move in another direction with one of their own renters".... again, this is AFTER we signed the lease with a move in date only 13 days away. They didn't even have the decency to call us. On top of that, we only received the communications after they failed to answer my phone call about how to pay the deposit. These guys are a joke and have no consideration or care for your wellbeing.

Wouldn't do it again my situation was utterly terrible having to break a lease that was half through it's period due to a bad medical situation. They agreed to let go which I was fine with I was hospitalized there wasn't much I could do. Getting my fair security deposit back has been a huge issue after clearly induction of me paying the first month . He than takes it and trys to issue me half of what is owed. Which is complete murder to top it off the building itself was extremely damaged more than the unit was touched . Don't do it I where you.

As a property owner, I signed an agreement with MSB in September 2021 to manage my property after reading positive reviews on Yelp. At the beginning, when Doris was in the company, communication was working. Once she left the company, it took days to get a response from Nik. Slow to reply to service request, tenant had no AC for days in July, even though he called the emergency number. I had to ask a friend for and electrician referral because according to Kevin, MSB could not solve the problem.

In addition, the owner's payment which started every 14th, 15th, or the latest on16th of the month, ended up on my account on the 18th when HOA, mortgage and property bills were pass due. As I was responsible for most of property bills, I tried to reason with them but no success.

When I terminate the agreement with MSB, after the 30-day notice, they failed to return:
- records of service requests;
- updated tenant's insurance (expired in January 2023);
- pictures as proof of all inspection result;
- property keys (only returned after I called to remind I could take further actions).

Stressful. If you have a property that requires managing service requests or good communication look further.

Updated: when I terminate contract with MSB, they cancelled maintenance pest control on my property without my authorisation. Now I am having a hard time to re-initiate the service.

MSB Property Management has managed my income property for 3 years now. I really like the attention they give to my Apartment Complex. Since switching over to their company they have managed to increase my monthly profit by 30% in Berkeley (which is rent controlled) by pursuing tenants that were not paying their rent and by switching me over to their vendors whom they contract with to charge less. They always answer my phone calls and emails in a timely manner. They do not have a long drawn out automated answering service, if they’re not in the field they answer my calls immediately. I cannot stress how important it was to me to find a management company that is so personable and thorough.

I had concerns about becoming a landlord, especially as I live quite some distance from my rental properties. Fortunately, I found MSB at the start, over 6 years ago. The firm now manages 2 properties for me, one of which I hope will become my retirement home. They have been professional every step of the way, from arranging necessary repairs, to selecting tenants, to dealing with the inevitable unforeseen issues. I feel confident that the tenants are being treated with respect while my interests are being protected. Every month I receive a complete, understandable statement with my check. If there is a decision I must make, they notify me promptly. I would never have purchased my second rental if I had not been able to have MSB manage it for me. Lynne

I am a general contractor and own several houses that MSB has managed for me for a number of years. They run a stellar operation. Their reports and record keeping are impeccable but what really sets them apart is their low cost maintenance services. Because I am a contractor, I am both knowledgeable and sensitive to charges for repair work. Truthfully, every time there has been an issue at one of my properties I am surprised at how inexpensively it gets resolved. On top of that, Nik and Monu, the principals, are super friendly and great to deal with. I really enjoy working with their team.
