We hired Monroe Concrete in Tucson for an indoor concrete overlay in a 2200 sq foot house. They totally transformed our floor and we love the results. Our house was very old construction and we were concerned about certain problem areas in the original slab (cracks, areas out of level, etc). They were able to solve these problems with their expertise. They kept everything very clean, worked efficiently, and ended with a professional and high quality result. A full floor renovation is never going to be cheap, but their quote was very fair and competitive. 10/10, highly recommend to anyone looking for concrete resurfacing.

I just contacted Brett Monroe, the owner of Concrete Coating & Remodeling. Back in August of 2022, our courtyard and rear patio were refinished by this company. We have noticed many spots bubbling up by what appears to be a poor preparation before they applied the topcoat. I contacted Brett Monroe, having faith & believing he would stand behind his work but sadly he is not after only two years ago charging over $7k for the work.
He is claiming that it’s a moisture problem. After this concrete being exposed to Arizona heat since the house was built 18 years ago I don’t buy that. As a retired engineer, I believe that it was either an inadequate prep or the wrong choice of product used or both. We just purchased this home, but that in itself shouldn't negate Brett's responsibility to stand by his company's workmanship of only 2 years ago. I find this extremely bad customer service. Now I will have to pay for another company to strip, prep correctly and re-do the work that Brett and company refuse to stand by their workmanship and do the right thing! It’s a shame there isn’t the opportunity to give a Zero Star review for customer service because unlike his replies to other low reviews, stating how they always want to make things right if they were informed & given an opportunity before the review. Well, with respect I did give him that opportunity and it made no difference!

Update;
Based on the company's reply to my review stating that I gave them an "ultimatum" to either fix their work or I will leave a bad review is absolutely untrue. What was said to the owner of the company after his stance that I was not the homeowner who contracted with him and hence, his position about his quality, or lack thereof in this case was only good for the original owner. That's pretty sad, as the previous owner I understand had issues that Was actually in their two year warranty period. So, to clarify what I said, was that I would love to write them a glowing review should they have offered/done the right thing. So, since they didn't, afterwards I chose to write a review based on what transpired between us. I also find it very ironic that he states that he offered to fix the problem at a discounted rate, which by the way this in his reply was the first I'd heard of. Does this not support that if he can fix it now, he should have done it right the first time. Obviously there is a disagreement on the root cause of the delaminating bubbles. Perhaps it's more than one issue, but a glaring issue that seems pretty clear is that the concrete surface was not sealed properly or the delaminating bubbles wouldn't be occurring!

So happy with how our floors turned out. I got multiple quotes from other companies, but Monroes was the best and they took a different approach. They applied an overlay to our existing concrete instead of sanding and staining. The color has texture and depth and is reminiscent of leather. It turned out beautifully.

I've had the opportunity to work with dozens of trades during this process and Monroe Concrete Coating and Remodeling was one of the best, if not the best trade I hired. Billy Monroe and his team took great care to make sure I was pleased with the texture and color of the concrete coating by allowing me to see a large sample applied in the entry before starting the project. I'm in business as well (Oracle Ford) and I appreciate and recognize excellent customer service. I trust their work will hold up as intended but feel certain they would address any concerns if they do pop up in the future.

Brett Monroe was very easy to work with. His crew was always on time, explained what the process was and did the job in a very courteous and professional manner. Can’t say enough good about the job they did. As a matter of fact, hated to even walk on the patio when finished. Looked brand new when done after having been installed originally in 2006. Definitely recommend Monroe Coatings with 5 stars plus.!

Brett and his team were amazing. His crew was on time, polite, professional, and the work was top notch. When we did have one tile issue, he responded with an immediate fix and made sure we were happy with the work. We changed the scope a couple of times and he worked with us and the wonky supply chain issues to ensure we could finish as quickly as possible. I would hire him again for any home improvement/construction projects.

We recently had Monroe Concrete Coating & Remodeling do general contracting for our master bathroom remodel. Brett and his team were hardworking and professional, taking great care to do things right. Despite the challenges of working during a pandemic, this company managed to complete our project in a timely manner at a good, fair price. The sub-contractors were excellent at their trades and did high quality work in every aspect: plumbing, electrical, tiling, etc. They were also pleasant and polite throughout the process. Our bathroom is now finished and we love how it looks! The quality workmanship of MCCR shows through in every detail, and we look forward to enjoying our new bathroom for many years to come. Monroe Concrete Coating & Remodeling is an excellent contractor. My wife and I have been in Arizona for 30 years and we have found it very difficult to find a contractor that is responsive. There are always problems, how they are handled is what makes the difference. The job was to tear up a flagstone patio and make an opening in the existing wood burning fire pit to make way for a gas line to convert it. There were some issues after the initial repair, but Brett Monroe sent Javier back and now we are very pleased. Thanks!!! Dave and Pam Mortensen
