I had an excellent experience working with Moderno. I had reached a point in making plans for a remodel where it was clear that I needed the advice of an engineer. I had trouble even getting a response from several other firms I had reached out to, but Felipe was able to schedule a visit promptly. I had a million questions about both the integrity of the existing structure as well as potential future plans and Felipe was not just patient, but seemed happy to share his knowledge and go through the entire house answering my questions and making recommendations. I had some other questions that came up about a month later and again Felipe responded quickly and thoroughly. I would not hesitate to recommend Moderno Engineering.

I reached out to Moderno to help me in evaluating if an interior wall was load bearing, and if so to help with designing a beam and foundation to replace the wall and open up the kitchen. Felipe was great to work with; he came out and performed a full structural inspection of the wall, determined it was load bearing and was able to recommend a solution. I really appreciated that he looked at the rest of the structure and noticed a few things that had been done in the past but looked still in good shape. In only a few weeks he had final plans to submit to the city for the work, and even communicated with them to see what they were expecting for plans which he revised to add some details that they were looking for. Felipe was very responsive and easy to work with; this has gone a long way to easing any anxiety about the project. I would definitely recommend working with Moderno on any project involving structural work!

Moderno did a fantastic job in assisting me with a critical aspect to the remodel of my house. Felipe came out to my house, performed a thorough inspection and delivered expert advise. The results of his work helped us save time, money, and additional work. Additionally, he provided me with plans and helped with the permit application to the county. We bought an old home and needed a structural engineer to assess what condition the house was in so we knew what we could feasibly remodel. We were admittedly ignorant to the whole process. When Felipe came out for the inspection, he was professional, friendly, and happily answered our uninformed questions. Moderno (Felipe) was very profession and accessible when other structural engineers were passing over our request to determine if a parking space above an empty storage unit below would be safe to park on. Only had a small window for an inspection, Felipe from Moderno Engineering was completely accommodating to my situation. The inspection saved me, we learned that the foundation walls were patched up in an unsafe and very temporary way. I was provided with a detailed report with recommendations, overall the property would not have been cost effective. Thank you for the help, will be using Moderno again!
