We met with 3 different builders before meeting with the Mikkelson team. This time the experience was very different. Our ideas were not merely suggestions but rather they were considered as inputs into the overall design. We felt in control over the look and feel of what was then just a dream. With the team's guidance we were able to quickly work through the design phase.We felt extremely comfortable selecting the individual pieces and being able to walk through the construction site and watch everything come together. They were transparent during all our transactions and this transparency was very much appreciated when we got to billing. Their open-book approach made the whole process much easier to navigate. With Mikkelson builders you get a front row seat to manage how every dollar is spent. We are very happy with the work the Mikkelson team did and happier yet with our home. We ended up with a home that truly reflects our vision and would highly recommend Mikkelson builders to anyone looking to build their dream home.

Highly recommend Mikkelson Builders for custom home building. Our experience (home completed Nov 2023) was on time, on budget, with excellent construction quality. Fred Dahms, Jr. is a talented, creative architect and we absolutely loved the partnership and his many ideas to make our home unique, beautiful, as well as high-functioning. He understood what we were looking for and would guide us to options without pushing a single POV. This was a first home build for us and we felt well guided about the process by all of the staff at Mikkelson. Also, the network of artisans and contractors they bring to the job are equally high quality and professional. Mikkelson delivered an amazing home for us and we are completely happy with the entire process from start to finish.

During our diligent search for a designer and a builder for a new home in Mequon, we selected Mikkleson Builders, and that proved to be a very good decision. Although our initial ideas for the home proved to be unaffordable, the Architect Fred Dhams and I quote said “We will make it happen.” That really put our nervousness at ease. (What a great Architect) Fred’s compassion and great knowledge really helped the entire process go smooth for us.
Building a new home really comes with its challenges but it does help ease the process when you have a great team assisting you along the way!
Cameron, their Chief financial officer was helpful throughout the entire process as well working with us creatively to develop very appealing plans for a home that perfectly suited the challenging confines of our Lake Lot.
Bob Rose, the Project manager also assisted greatly along the way. Not forgetting Sara the kind happy go lucky office manager, always happy to receive guests and made us feel welcome.
We are now living happily and comfortably in that remarkably beautiful Mikkleson-built home.

I was looking for new office space and was fortunate to find Mikkelson Builders. They responded to my inquiry right away. I met with the owner, Bill, a few days later to look at one of the rental spaces. He was super nice. The property and building look well maintained. The property manager, Lucy, has been so kind and has kept me informed on everything. The rent is fair and I don't think I could have found a better space. Truly a good experience.

Everyone at Mikkelson Builders has been wonderful to work with. I go in every month to pay my rent just so I can have a few minutes to chat with Sarah- she’s fantastic. My space is beautiful, the building is clean and kept up well. If I ever have an issue they are very quick at getting it resolved. The are very reasonable in their pricing and do not have any hidden fees. The lease is very simple and easy to follow. I’ve been with them for nearly 5 years and have moved to a bigger space once.

I have been a tenant in various buildings in the Glen Oaks office park for over 25 years. I have recently encouraged a colleague to rent office space from Mikkelson Builders, telling them that I will ONLY rent from the Mikkelsons because of how professional, responsive, and easy they are to work with. When I have had a request or concern, I get an immediate response from Sarah, who then makes sure that the issue is taken care of quickly. Bill, John, Sarah, and the maintenance staff have all been helpful to talk to when I have questions. People have said how nice our suite is, and that parking is easy. Our building is clean, and I am proud to have my practice here.

We have leased office space from Mikkelson Builders for over 6 years. Their offices are great, super clean and well maintained and the Mikkelson family is extremely responsive to any concern or need that we have had over the years. We are so happy to have found them! Sarah is the nicest person to deal with, as is Bill. We have had landlords previously, but they don't compare to the Mikkelson's. We will never leave.

We wanted to share the experience we had with Mikkelson Builders. My wife and I love the Mid-Century Modern look and feel. We found this with Mikkelson Builders!

After talking with Fred Dahms it was a clear choice we wanted to work with him and Mikkelson. Fred listened to our thoughts and pulled them together into one cohesive vision for our project. He was able to take our initial ideas and turn them into something far better than we had envisioned. His knowledge and passion for what he does really came through each time we discussed plans. This ranged from layouts, materials, colors…no detail was too small. When roadblocks popped up, Fred always found a solution. He took the time to talk us through our options and made recommendations that got us back on track. It is a true gift! Thanks Fred!

Although our project wasn’t the largest, we were always treated top notch by Mikkelson. The office staff, design team and vendors really care about what they do. We highly recommend Mikkelson!
