Poor communication, unprofessional. Fraud. Any “contractor” that asked for more than 10% upfront red flag. Its State Law.

In California, the state limits advance payment at the time of contract signing to 10% of the total estimated job cost or $1,000, whichever amount is lower! All payments thereafter are supposed to be made for work performed or for materials delivered to the job site

Contractors license is under review.

No breach was done by our side. Contractor received initial payment of 8k for materials and never delivered (we have copy of check) Contractor continues to Lie. And might be mentally unstable and uncapable of doing professional work.
