Sporadic and angry like the other comments say. Refused to pay for a job that I did for him. He hires subs and then doesn’t pay them. Stay clear of this guy. Read the other comments.

We hired Bob (Meacham Construction) to expand our house out and up. We turned our 3 bedroom/1 bathroom Land Park house into a 4/2+ by added ~50% more square feet. A kitchen was removed and a new one built; a second story master bed room/bathroom was added; a wall between the old kitchen and living room was removed to create a large, open room.

My family and I lived in the house during the 5 months of construction. Bob's crew tried to make sure our time during construction was as comfortable as possible. We had hot water and washer/dryer all throughout construction; they even installed a laundry sink for us to use for dishes when they removed our old kitchen sink. They also would keep up temporary walls to help keep the dust and noise out of our living area.

Through the entire project, there were workers working on our house every weekday (and even some Saturdays). It was great to see the progress on a daily basis and discuss what was going on.

Bob was up front with the costs and how much extra things (like adding a separate HVAC system to the upstairs) would cost during construction. He would email the invoices and discuss the numbers.

I definitely recommend people talked to Bob and get a quote when looking for a contractor.

We hired Bob Meacham for a second story addition in East Sacramento. He was on time and finished the project in the time he said it would take. He did what he said and said what he did. We’ve recommended him to many friends. They are always happy with the results.

Very Happy

Bob Meacham’s construction is of very high quality. His team is conscientious, diligent and hard working. They built the home of our dreams for our retirement years. We are very pleased. There are always issues in construction, but none that we’re not solved to our satisfaction. He was thorough in dealing with issues and was good on his word in every respect. We would ask him to do it again! Thank you Bob!!!

Can't speak to the building quality since our first and only conversation lasted about 3 minutes. In that time, the owner asked me one question - what neighborhood are you looking at? The rest of the time was him on a tirade about how no one should live there and how terrible of a place it is. He (angrily) gave me "advice" on what I needed to do instead. When I suggested we might not be a good fit to work together, he hung up on me.

I wanted to buy an empty lot and build a new home on it. The neighborhood is North Oak Park, North of the UC Davis Medical Center. The neighborhood is mostly medical professionals. The two neighboring 2 bed/1 ba homes (each under 1000 sq ft) are valued at 450k and 460k...
If he'd listened instead of condemning my choices, maybe he would have been interested.. Or maybe that neighborhood just has too many "druggies" for him. Either way, having worked for a small family-owned contracting company before, I was shocked by his unprofessionalism.
