Real stone mason, craftsman and artist! I had a very hard time finding a REAL stone mason who actually wants to work with REAL stone. I had been told that I could not have real stone on the exterior of my pool house, that the last stone mason in the area retired and moved years ago and that I would have to go with fake stone or, worse yet, fake stone panels! Then, I found a contractor who works with MD Masonry. Alex, the owner, is a mechanical engineer and self trained stone mason and truly an artist. He does the most beautiful stone work, preferring to work with real stone and natural materials. He is young, energetic, responsive and singularly dedicated to his craft. He is also an honest and kind person who will do exquisite, meticulous work for you at a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to hire MD masonry again. Don’t settle for fake stone!

I own an early 19th century home with an original stone basement. The original mortar was in disrepair, large gaps had appeared, and the basement was falling into general decay. Alex was excellent to communicate with, he provided a prompt and reasonable estimate, and followed up on scheduling prompt service in a proactive and professional manner. Most importantly, the work was outstanding. He and Angel removed the crumbling mortar and replaced it flawlessly. They even included a recessed seam between stones that highlights the original character and looks terrific. You can tell they're passionate about the quality of their work. The project was completed in 1 day. They were fast, quiet, cleaned up after themselves, and are reasonably priced. Really great work and I highly recommend Alex and his team.
