If you like to splurge on a pen or notebook or accessories this is your place. Beautiful items, everything they have is just beyond quality, elegance and beauty. The owner is just lovely and Martha is the cutest pup ever.
2024 update. I finally made it to the new location and I love this new space the drinks are amazing expensive but very good. Small collection available from Martha Mae but ordering online and pick up is very good. We got the typical pen and notebook somethings never change. They have other artists stuff in location. Absolutely loving this new location

This shop is chock full of lovely little luxuries! They have lots of high-quality, aesthetically pleasing art supplies, stationary, and ceramics made right on site. If you're lucky, Martha (the sweetest spaniel lady) will be there so you can give her pets in her little basket! If you need watercolors, gouache, or any drawing supplies, stop on in. They also have gift cards for your artsy friend!

Pretty cool store. They have a lot of very unique and high-end art and art supplies. Most of their merchandise is fairly expensive. I was debating giving it 4 stars due to the high prices, but I don't think anything is necessarily overpriced, just high-end. I'm not really the target market, but it's still a very cool store to go in and look around. Owner is very nice and has a cute dog.

I don't know much about art supplies but I went in to buy a gift for a family member. The employees were very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I had a vague description of what I wanted and they showed me a variety of options. It's also beautifully set up and we'll taken care of. I'd recommend to anyone.

Wonderful art supply/design store. The store mirrors the products: effectively functional and beautiful to look at. Most of the stuff sold here is rather high end (read: not cheap), but it's worth stepping in to look around even if you aren't planning to pick up a meal for two's worth of watercolors. There are also more affordable knick knacks and desk top accessories to be found, so it's a great place to grab some creative gifts. The owner (that's her behind the counter) is super nice and can help you pick out the right goat hair brush for your friend who paints.

Martha Mae is everything that is right with the world! The owner has curated a beautiful collection of some of the highest quality art supplies and writing implements I have ever seen. Even just browsing through the store is a wonderful experience that makes you want things you didn't think you needed (mine was hand-forged scissors from Japan that felt just perfect in the hands. I don't need fancy scissors, but I want these perfect scissors!) Yes, things are expensive, but these are items meant to be treasured and protected. If you want workhorse art supplies, go to Blick, but if you want to find that next treasure in your collection, go to Martha Mae.

Such beautiful and luxurious art supplies, and so well curated, that it is a wonderful shopping experience. French and Japanese pens and fountain pens, handmade scissors and brushes. This is not the place to get your kid's finger paints and acrylics, but instead a place for adult coniseurs of beautiful drawing and writing implements.

Just an all around exquisite shop. The whole room is laid out “just so.” I usually just window shop and look at everything because it is all so carefully thought out. It tends to be out of my price range, but the tools would all be well worth it if I were as artistic as I wish I was. If you are a visual artist - or a writer - or are buying a gift for one of the above, I can’t imagine a better place.
