I toured this community with my mother in law and aunt and we absolutely loved it! The community is well kept, the amenities are awesome including their clubhouse and pool, and their sales agent Dylan Hoskins was amazing to work with! We would love to buy a secondary home her!!

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts (and I mean multiple polite-but-persistent nudges), we were unable to obtain the 30-day homebuyer survey, even though Keri pushed and pushed to have it resent, something just wasn’t in their system right. So instead of clicking bubbles on a form, I figured I’d do the next best thing: write a love letter to the people who made our home-buying experience genuinely outstanding.

Let’s start with Dylan, our superintendent. Yes, we had a few small hiccups with the home (as anyone buying a new house can expect), but Dylan didn’t just address them—he rolled up his sleeves, went full superhero mode, and took care of everything with professionalism and a can-do attitude. If he wore a cape to work, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Now, onto the real MVP of our journey: our sales rep, Keri Thompson. Honestly, if this was a dating app for neighborhoods, we swiped right on this community because of her. Keri has that rare combo of professionalism, approachability, and a sixth sense for customer service that makes you feel like you’re the only buyer in the world. She was always patient, incredibly responsive, and never made us feel silly for asking “just one more question” (even when we were on question #73).

And get this—she’s still helping us, even after the sale closed. That kind of follow-through is rare, and it’s not something we take lightly.

To DR Horton: If you’re looking for the secret to consistent 5-star reviews and happy homeowners, here it is—clone Keri Thompson about 4,000 times. I guarantee you’ll dominate the housing market like an undefeated championship team.

So thank you, Keri, for being awesome, for caring, and for making us feel like family. DR Horton is lucky to have you—and so are we.

If I could give D.R. Horton zero stars, I would. Buying a home in their Long Valley development has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences we've ever had.

When we bought our home, we were promised several key amenities—year-round heated pools, a lazy river, an on-site elementary school, etc. All of those have now been scrapped. D.R. Horton hasn’t taken any real accountability and instead offers excuses. While they haven’t outright said it, I assume they’re over budget and trying to save money. Regardless, these were major selling points during our home purchase, and removing them after the fact is dishonest and unethical. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut more promised features down the line.

Before closing, we did a walk-through and identified a list of things that needed fixing. We were told they’d be handled after we moved in, but the work was rushed and done poorly. The project managers didn’t seem to care and, unsurprisingly, they’re no longer with the company. The new ones aren’t any better—just as unresponsive and indifferent.

D.R. Horton uses the cheapest contractors available and clearly values cheap labor over quality. The drywall contractor had to come back multiple times just to fix simple nail pops, and even then, the work wasn’t done well. The painters appeared to be a migrant family—the kids sat on our kitchen floor for over an hour while the dad went to get paint. When they finally did the job, they used the wrong kind of paint, leaving a shiny, uneven finish on our walls. D.R. Horton then sent the drywall contractor back to repaint, but it wasn’t much of an improvement. Also, our heater had water leaking into it because a cap wasn't installed on the intake air pipe.

Trying to get anything fixed has been a nightmare. You have to constantly contact the project and office managers just to get someone to show up. You can’t rely on anyone to take initiative. The superintendent came out to look at our block wall fence and pointed out a problem with our rain gutter. He said he’d have someone come fix it, and then we never heard from him again and the contractor never came. This kind of neglect has been typical in our experience—once the sale is finalized, D.R. Horton treats you like a nuisance, not a customer.

After we moved in, we hired a home inspector who found multiple code violations. Either D.R. Horton isn’t checking their own work, or they just don’t care. Based on everything we’ve experienced, it could easily be both. If you’re considering buying one of their homes, I highly recommend getting a full inspection done before you sign anything.

Many of the positive reviews on here appear to come from people who don’t live in the community—likely realtors or incentivized parties. Take those with a grain of salt. Our experience has been anything but five stars.

Pro tip: bring your own roll of blue tape to your final walk-through. Even though D.R. Horton’s email tells you not to, do it anyway. The project manager will try to control the tape and keep you talking the whole time so you miss issues. They don’t want to deal with the problems—they just want to close.

D.R. Horton prioritizes profits over the people in their communities. I would never buy from them again and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. Don’t make the same mistake we did.

Shout out to Dylan and the whole DRHorton team at the Long Valley development! What a fantastic neighborhood. Great home options, nice amenities, terrific location, helpful sales associates. We loved seeing The Haven—best “affordable” home in the Parade by far. Beautiful decor, large rooms, thoughtful layout, and gorgeous views. And a big thanks to Justina for being an awesome sales assistant!

I regret purchasing a home from DR Horton due to their dishonesty and lack of accountability. When I bought my home, I was promised several key features that influenced my decision, including parking in front of my house, free RV parking, a stable HOA fee, a year-round heated pool, and a school within the community. Unfortunately, these promises were not honored.

Now, RV parking costs $30 per vehicle, the HOA fees have increased, the pool is no longer heated year-round, and they completely scrapped plans for the school. On top of that, I’ve received multiple tickets for parking in front of my own home and in designated parking spots.

The community has repeatedly brought these concerns to DR Horton, only to receive empty apologies with no real solutions. It’s incredibly frustrating to see a company make commitments to homebuyers and then take them away after closing. While some of these changes may not have been in the contract, they were absolutely part of the sales pitch. DR Horton is not a company I would trust again, and I strongly encourage others to be cautious before buying from them as their sales pitch is a lie to sell homes.

DR Horton promised to build a lot with this community and has slowly cancelled many great amenities, such as a lazy river, a trail system connected to St. George’s trails, and an elementary school. The houses are decent quality, but the warranty is not all that it’s made out to be.

D.R. Horton at Long Valley has got it down! I helped a client purchase their first home in this community. The process was seamless. Dylan with their sales team was very professional and a great communicator. As far as the build goes, I have never experienced an easier home inspection. They have worked out any kinks they may have had and are able to build a quality home at an affordable price. I would definitely recommend future buyers to this community.
