J&P Construction, Drywall and Painting -

I hired J&P Constructions, Drywall and Painting in July 2023 to paint both the interior and exterior of my house. The project took a little over three weeks to complete. Overall, they did a good job and were very accommodating, even when we requested additional tasks after finalizing the price and scope of work. They managed to fit everything in within the original three-week timeframe.

They tackled several tasks for us, including fixing our outdoor front light glass, replacing our sunroom screen, painting our windows to match the new exterior color, and repairing our sliding cabinets. However, I did notice some issues after they finished. The paint on our doors started chipping away, and it was clear that the doors hadn’t been fully sanded down before painting. They mentioned they sanded the doors so the paint would adhere better, but it seemed like they just applied another coat over the existing paint, leading to the chipping.

I also found it amusing (in hindsight) that they lost many of the screws for our doors and ended up securing several door hinges with just one screw. It felt like a rookie mistake, perhaps a result of rushing to complete the job and overlooking some quality control aspects.

Despite these issues, I still think J&P Constructions did a good job overall. We now have some paint on hand for touch-ups and minor adjustments.

We used J&P Construction to paint interior walls on a new construction project. I was impressed by multiple aspects of our interaction.

1) Quality: The final results were great. The transitions between colors and transitions between walls and ceiling were crisp and strait. Coverage was great. There were no light spots on the colored walls.

2) Trust: In general I have had multiple bad experiences with contractors. So, my trust level starts pretty low. Although I dont paint for a living, I do know a bit about painting in terms of what to expect, and how un-noticed shortcuts can be taken. I asked the team, at multiple times questions about the process to see if they would take shortcuts. The team had no idea if I had any understanding of professional painting. Each time I was pleased with their answers, and later results that could have easily taken advantage of unsuspecting customers. I fully trust this team to do the right thing, and only leave when the job is right.

3) Communication: During the entire process I was contacted each day and was informed when the team would be there and what to expect for progress each day. They hit it every time.

4) Completion time: The team estimated the duration of the job and completed it in exactly that time.

In all I am super happy that I selected J&P construction for my job and would not only use them in the future, but would recommend them to others, over many other local painting contractors.

They did an excellent job preparing to paint: covering the floors and belongings, lighting etc.. They recommend and use quality paint that’s easy to clean, and covers well so we used less paint overall, fixed some minor drywall dings (including texture), and we’re less than a couple other bids we received. Very happy with the quality of the job. Found a couple spots to touch up and they are on top of it! No problem at all. They are great to work with, good people, and have taken excellent care of me multiple times. My go to!!
