Jason replaced a couple sidewalks and filled a section of concrete for my mother. We were in no rush so when he contacted me after his job was finished he got right to work. One walkway was flat and another was slanted. The section he had to add concrete to was also slanted. He communicated with my mother daily and kept me in the loop also since I live out of town. He was quick and thorough. We will be hiring him again if we have more concrete work.

Jason has done a handful of foundation and patio work projects here at our place in Mt. Shasta. Jason has a great eye for what needs to get done and how best to execute all within in keeping in budget. I hired Jason Davis, JD's Northstate Building, to add a new walkway along the rear and side of our dwelling and a patio area around an existing firepit. Jason was responsive with his bid estimate and returned calls within one day or less, His work was excellent and we made several changes once the initial layout was set, which he had no problem working with. His demeanor was positive and his work ethic very good. There were some delays due to weather, but he always kept us informed about the timing of the project. When weather was finally suitable the project was completed on the day he said it would be. We are very satisfied and pleased with the quality, appearance and utility of the finished work. We will use his services again when needed and would readily recommend Jason to anyone in need of the work he can perform (as a matter of fact I already have).

Our experience with Jason was poor.

We contracted for a simple sidewalk from driveway to front step. The route is level and was lawn. We supplied detailed dimensions and requirements. Jason quoted $3,200. Then Jason did not respond for two days. He first claimed he had no internet or phone service. When he finally showed up, he claimed the lack of response was because he had been too sick to answer.

Before coming, Jason asked to use our backhoe/loader because he had trailer issues and could not bring his equipment. We said OK. When he showed up, he did not know how to operate the backhoe or loader, or even move the tractor. After an hour of training Jason, he started removing the existing turf. In doing that, he damaged our deck and promised to repair it (he did not). We served Jason lunch. He quit at 2:30, saying he would be back to finish the following day. He left tools scattered around our property. He did not return the following day and did not respond to requests for his plan.

The third day, Jason showed up near noon and said he would not complete the job or replace the grass. Jason said that the grass removal he had done benefited us and that we should be grateful. He became hostile, abandoned the contract and the job, leaving us with damage and a mess.

We are senior citizens. After receiving law enforcement assistance and recommendations regarding a safe method with a hostile person, we returned Jason’s tools to his location in Yreka.

Instead of the contracted sidewalk, we have a damaged deck and a dirt entry path with no grass. What was grass will become a dangerous, slippery, muddy path this winter. That mud will track into our home.

Jason has endless and creative excuses. Given our experience with Jason, we do not believe that even with a clear contract, quality work, lack of damage, or job completion is likely.

Amazing work! Jason was one of the many people we called to get quotes for concrete work. He was not only the quickest to come out (he came the very day we called!) he also was the lowest quote we received! He worked quick, our large section took 3 days. He was very professional; he kept in contact and was always quick to answer any questions we had. I will definitely be recommending Jason to others!
