UPDATE: Following my initial review, I am pleased to report that Ithaca Environmental addressed my concerns promptly and thoroughly. After seeing my review, they reached out to apologize and took swift action to rectify the issues I experienced. Their proactive approach and genuine effort to make things right have significantly improved my perception of their customer service. Their resolution to this matter was 5 star quality. I appreciate their efforts to ensure my satisfaction so I have increased my review from 3 to 4 stars because I still had my initial experience and it took my original review to get their attention.

I recently hired Ithaca Environment for radon mitigation , but unfortunately (and it seems by other reviews I am in the minority), the experience left me with mixed feelings. The price was in line with other quotes I received, but I was disappointed with their communication. Some of my questions were answered while others seemed to be ignored, most of the times the answers can in incomplete sentences like I was annoying them with my questions or getting a brush off. One thing I did like is that they never tried to upsell me on a dehumidifier or anything like most of the other companies from which I got quotes.

The installation itself was done by a third-party crew, who were knowledgeable and polite but didn’t clean up afterward at all. I was left with wood and cement debris everywhere they drilled - all over my utility closet and basement. I reached out to Ithaca Environmental about it, but they never responded. I wasn't looking for discount, I just wanted them to acknowledge that they are concerned a crew they hired left a mess. In the same email I asked about the fact that our fire detector went off the night the system was installed, and that was replied to so I know they got my email. But I also asked about doing a radon re-test (the test the crew left for me came back as invalid), and that inquiry was also ignored. Overall, the system seems to work as intended, but the lack of follow-through on communication and cleanup left me underwhelmed and questioning their commitment to customer satisfaction, particularly post-project once they've been paid.

These guys went above and beyond every step of the way during an asbestos remediation project that changed in scope multiple times. The scheduling was quick, communication was excellent, and they did every thing they could (and succeeded) at keeping the costs reasonable. The work was completed quickly and we couldn't be happier.

Ithaca Environmental group rocks. To cut the long story short: I thought I found asbestos in a old home I recently purchased in Ithaca. I couldn't sleep so at 4 am I sent an email describing my concern. I got a reply back that morning around 8 or 9, appointment was set up for just a few days later. Matt, who is the best when it comes to this stuff walked me through the whole process. He's been doing this for over 10 years, he has a TON of experience. He knows what he is doing. He was educating me through out his inspection, answering all my questions, pointing out things I need to look for. Both my husband and I were present during the inspection and we ask a lot of questions. Matt answered them all and made us feel much more comfortable now that we know a little more about asbestos. You can't learn about this stuff by just googling it - deal with an expert and cover all your basis. Turns out what I thought was asbestos is not. He took a few different samples to get tested and got back to me with results in just a couple of days. I will be using him again should the need arise for another property and give him and IECG my highest recommendation. Thanks Matt!
