We'll get that permit, but we'll take 7 months and 1 day to get a county surveyor to final a parcel map..... I needed help with a minor subdivision. After a couple of years (due to covid and other issues) I was working with my 3rd project manager at Hogan on the final map. Each week I would call the project manager (if you are small Hogan does not call you) and ask for an update. After the 3rd revision to the final map went back to the county, nothing of substance from Hogan for months. Every excuse in the world you can imagine about the county surveyor not answering his phone, his email etc. Hogan really should not use this one as an excuse. My project manager and the surveying manager were not good at answering telephones or responding to email. The only one at Hogan you usually got to talk to was the receptionist and messages for a return call would go unreturned for days. (During this period, it took another Hogan employee 8 days to send a non-technical email to my title company.) I finally contacted one of the principals at Hogan and asked for assistance. Then, miraculously, within one day of the principal getting involved, Hogan made contact with the county surveyor and the final map was eventually approved.

At best these folks are severely incompetent but its borderline criminal. We worked with them for 2 years and wasted tens of thousands of dollars with their amateur services. After 8 months they doubled their original estimate because of the "surprise" that a residential property has a driveway. Yes. a driveway on a residential project is a surprise to these folks. There were too many other fails to mention but the last straw was that they forced us into a septic system that costs several thousands a year to maintain and we found out from the county. Never did they think to communicate any decisions. The arrogance and ambivalence of Mike Hogan was just the cherry on top.

Hogan Land Services, specifically, Daniel, Principal Engineering Division Manager, has worked on several projects for me in the past few years from property boundary staking, preliminary soils exploration and ground water monitoring, pre-perc site evaluation, wet-weather percolation testing, topographic mapping (LLA & septic) and the design and approval of two, five bedroom, septic systems. Daniel kept me apprised every step of the way on these projects and what I could expect from the timing of these projects to their prospective fees. There were no surprises only positive results. The communication skills of everyone that I have dealt with in this office has been outstanding. I will entrust Hogan Land Services for any and all future projects.

We needed a property line surveyed and these guys came out one afternoon, found and marked the property line monuments. Since there was some intrusion over the line, they drew up a great map showing the intrusion so I can discuss it with my neighbor.
It was also pretty quick, about 3 weeks from my call until the survey happened and within a month I had a great map!

Overpriced and underachieving.
Countless thousands spent with these people only to ask for more and no permit in sight. COUNTY KAHOOTS TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. Don't waste your $ and hire an actual professional. They're slogan SHOULD be " we will string out your project with so much red tape you will be so much more screwed than before you wasted your $ with us.! No permit in sight unless you have 15- 20k easy!!
