I have never in my entire life had a worse experience with any business. Harvey Construction did an extensive proposal for repairs when I bought my home in 2015. The seller of the home wrote a cashiers check to Harvey Construction for $1,850 towards their proposal, and the check was given to me to use towards these repairs. I misplaced the check and found it in May 2018. I confirmed with the bank that the check is valid, and then contacted Harvey Construction to determine how to proceed. For over a month, the woman who answers the phone (Debra Ann) refused to connect me with anyone who can help, and accused me of trying to scam them. I finally spoke with the owner Paul, who said that a new inspection would be needed since so much time had passed. I agreed, and made it clear that my priority was to have the windows replaced, which was one of the items listed on their original proposal. When their inspector (Jim) arrived, he told me that he was only there to review the termite issue, and asked me to show him the basement. I took him to the basement, and asked him if he could show me the signs of termites or termite damage. He refused to show me the issue that he was proposing to treat, cussed me out, and stormed off my property. I spoke with the owner, Paul, to let him know what happened. I told him that I was not interested in having poison sprayed on my property unless there was a really good reason, and that after the way his inspector acted, I would rather not have his company do any work on my property. Paul said that if I wanted the windows done, it would have to be subcontracted, and that I would have to find my own licensed contractor for him to subcontract to, and then to contact him with the details. I found a window company and a fence company, signed contracts with both, and contacted Harvey Construction to have the check signed over to one of the contractors. Harvey Construction now insists that this check can only be used towards termite treatment, although this is not reflected on the check or on any of the real estate paperwork. I have never dealt with a company that is more rude and incompetent than Harvey Construction, and would highly recommend that you avoid working with them in any capacity.

I scheduled Harvey construction to do a proposal on some termite, exterior dry rot, and deck work. When James McEvoy arrived he saw Fungus Figthers another great local contractor company here finishing up their proposal, he started the conversation, I don't know why I'm here. James said, " we don't give free proposals, my time is very valuable and I can't give you an estimate." I did not mind paying for an estimate, if its a thorough one, so we could know the scope of work, but if your doing termite work, and you don't know the scope, how would you be able to give a competitive estimate? Anyway, James was extremely rude, and it speaks to the business he represents, unfortunately good things don't last forever, so James here's a tip for you, enjoy being busy now, and turning away potential customers. I'll love to see your business name in the downturn of the economy and pass on it. On the flip side, if you found this review you're probably looking for a reputable contractor to do some work. Look up Fungus Fighter, they are another alternative, and their customer service is much better.

I did not get to use them but they had a cancellation for a pest inspection and squeezed me in in two days. My client unfortunately did not get her offer accepted but we appreciate their concern and quick response. Use Harvey Construction-with the great reviews. You will be happy!

Had such a pleasant experience with Jim (james) the pest inspection guy. They've done great work remodeling homes. Very great work.
