In reference to the Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) program, I was referred to Golden Retrofit by my general contractor. While the EBB program recommends obtaining at least three quotes before selecting a contractor, I expanded my search to four different companies.

A majority of the companies I contacted requested full payment for the project, with the expectation that I would receive the EBB check. One company estimated a project duration of 3-4 days.

My final consultation was with Andy from Golden Retrofit. I immediately felt confident in Andy's expertise and professionalism. To my surprise, he informed me that Golden Retrofit would apply for the EBB check on my behalf, requiring only payment for my portion of the project cost. Additionally, he assured me that the project could be completed in just one day.

The price quoted by Golden Retrofit, which included some foundation repairs not covered by the EBB program, was significantly lower than the other three offers I received. Upon hearing Andy's explanation of the process, I believed there must have been a mistake, but I promptly accepted their offer.

The Golden Retrofit team completed the project efficiently within a single day and left the work area clean and tidy. Throughout the process, communication with Golden Retrofit was excellent, with regular follow-ups to ensure I was fully informed about the progress and expectations.

As a manager of an eight year apartment building I had to get several bids for the owner for earthquake retro fitting of the building as required by owner's insurance & the city. Golden retrofit had a great estimate with City fees and plan check and other extras included. They did the work quickly, they were always very responsive to calls & emails (which seems to be less and less common all the time with businesses), there were no sudden surprises or fees and the city approval came quickly. And they were super nice all the time!

I would totally recommend Golden Retrofit to anybody that needs to do earthquake retrofitting weather for a home or a 2 to 4 unit or other multifamily property.
