Although Gold Coast Surveying told us they were unable to take our job at the moment, they took time out of their day to not only recommend two other surveyors that did the work we asked for in our neighborhood, but also found the city maps for our property in question and sent them to us. Going above and beyond for someone you know won't even be your customer alone tells me this is a company I would recommend and be happy to do future business with.

If you are a homeowner and want to know your basic property lines, don't waste your time. Go to Lowes and get a 300 ft measuring tape for $25.00 and look at your parcel map and measure from a place where your neighbors fence meets your property to the next neighbor. This experience was a $500 dollar guessing game, and the owner stated that it should cost me much more. I just needed to know within a few feet where I could run a fence. I feel more secure to trust google maps and a measuring tape than I do from these guys. They may be fine for a huge corporation who doesn't mind shelling out the bucks for them to wander around at leisure looking for "certified" property markers, for precise measurements to the minute inch, but for the average homeowner I felt ripped off. I thought that surveyors knew how to read parcel maps and could mark out easements but apparently they can't without referencing a marker a mile away and measuring all the way back through the backyards of 20 houses. What a waste of money.
