Gimme shelter installed a masonry heater for us about 2 years ago. They made a nice design. And the brick layer Mark Check Masonry did a great job. However the crew that set up the heater core made several mistakes that the Mason had to fix and work around. And I got very little guidance on brick ordering from the manager Mark Klein. Even though the project cost me about $20,000 I still had to order my own brick and estimate the amount.... I would have hope that they would have at least estimated the number for me as they have more experience in that area.
Additionally they installed some of the draft controls incorrectly. And I had to fix them on my own. Finally the slab for our heated bench they said only be done in two pieces... And we had to reject the one that they had as it had a fair amount of imperfections. So we wound up ordering a complete one piece polished concrete bench top from a company in Appleton (Natural Encounters) that was done perfectly and for a lesser price.
All this was a bit disappointing as they are supposed to be in very "high end" construction company.
