My husband and I recently used Gilbert Construction for our long-awaited kitchen remodel. Terry was enthusiastic and hands-on from start to finish, making sure we got everything we wanted in our space. I desperately wanted to add double-ovens and a walk-in pantry, and he creatively designed the layout to include both!! Plus he enlarged the island, doubling the surface area and adding a pull-out for trash and a wine fridge. Not to mention the beautiful canned lights that were added.
Terry and his crew were polite and professional, and he was always available to answer questions that came up. We love our beautiful kitchen and highly recommend this company!

We live in a manufactured home. We initially hired Terry to remodel our master bath and he did a terrific job so we then had him do the master bedroom and its adjacent sitting room. The two jobs included new walls, crown molding, and baseboards along with a new bathtub, shower, counter tops and cabinets and all new doors and electrical switches and outlets.We previously had our kitchen and secondary bath remodeled but Terry's work was the best by far. I'm now calling him to do our diningroom and livingroom.

I strongly don’t recommend using Gilbert Construction – “Terry Gilbert” (CA License number #1002121). I have filed multiple complaints with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) against Gilbert Construction, and he is being disciplined by CSLB for not using contracts on jobs, unprofessional work, and incorrect invoices (i.e., over-billing). He bought his business from Larry Nau (Larry Nau Craftsman), and Nau is unprofessional, unethical, and a liar (e.g., also lies on his invoices and overcharges). FYI - Nau is semi-retired and gets paid by Gilbert Construction (so they are basically in business together). Nau performed unprofessional work on my house, including major construction defects, and takes no responsibility for them. I have tried to contact Nau and Gilbert and they don’t respond. My house not only has major construction defects, but also major safety issues (i.e., incorrectly installed deck railings with glass that are not to code and are unsafe with up to a two-story fall!!!). I have documentation and evidence to prove all this. Gilbert basically continues Nau’s unprofessional business practices through Gilbert Construction. The same unprofessional business practices (e.g., not using contracts, unprofessional work, over-billing, lies, etc.), and the same two unprofessional employees (that commit major construction defects) just moved from “Larry Nau Craftsman” to “Gilbert Construction”. Again, I strongly recommend NOT using either of these companies. If you have used them in the past, do what I am doing and have a Construction Defect Expert inspect their work!!!

Somebody driving one of their work vehicles was tailgating folks on the freeway like a mad person. Don't know which Gilbert company but that person was scary.
