Galloway Designs was recommended to us by an engineer who said he did great work. We figured if someone detail oriented, like an engineer, would recommend him, he would be good. 🙂 After we started the process with Igor, we heard from a random builder that he liked Galloway Designs plans because they were so detailed that the subs had an easier time working with the plans. So 2 people in the industry gave him praise which made us feel good about this decision. Although our initial ideas were not going to work in Alaska, he gave us a first draft and were were able to see what issues we were going to have. Then we came to him with ideas we liked from a few floorplans we had found and he put them together and made us a design that we are so excited about. His suggestions were great and his knowledge of the construction process helped us get through decisions we needed to make. I would highly recommend considering Galloway Designs for you custom structure designs.

Galloway Designs is the best!

Igor was a breath of fresh air and provided exactly the building design solution we needed. He followed up, listened to our needs and wants, offered layout advice appropriately and tolerated multiple revisions. He was willing and available to meet with us to review updates as needed and delivered an excellent, useable finished product at a very competitive price. We couldn't be happier!

The scope of our project: Igor designed a fully custom four bedroom/four bath/two car garage with an attached aircraft hanger. Our project has light, view, accessibility and aircraft access challenges that all needed solutions.

Getting a building plan completed requires a lot of the designer. They must be competent with their software program so that they can make changes quickly on the fly, they must listen well to the client's ideas and concepts, they must be able to reserve their own opinions about the project and ultimately defer to the client, they must be able to follow up and finish the design on schedule and it's ideal if they have the experience to create a plan that covers all of the relevant construction details for the contractors that will actually be raising the building. It's an intense list of requirements!

A bad designer can really set your project back. We learned this the hard way by spending several thousand dollars with a different designer only to end up with a plan that didn't match our requests, didn't have the relevant construction details and cost us an entire build season in lost time.

After that experience, we put considerable effort into trying to find someone to get the design finished and we couldn't find a local designer that wasn't booked up for six months or more. It was such a problem that it's inspiring our daughter to go to school for architecture design!

We were thrilled to finally find Galloway Designs and work with Igor. He is excellent through every one of those points mentioned above and we left as happy customers. Thanks a million!

I looked around at many companies and they were either way overpriced, booked to far out, or wouldn’t deal with my project because it was too small. I called Igor and he was super cool. He was upfront about pricing, which by the way, was way more reasonable than anyone else I contacted and he was able handle the entire thing . He listened to what I was saying, provided valuable input that I didn’t think of and really made me feel at ease. Because of his incredible talent and work ethic I will get my permits from the city, and have a nice visual picture to keep. I would say more, but my fingers are tired of typing, but just know that this guy gets it done. I give 10 stars!
