Throughout this process they have been very timely and when needed rushed work for me. They helped with navigating the permits through the city(hard for me) with ease.

Maybe Forge is great with straightforward septic systems, or maybe the other reviewers got lucky to work directly with Ben, but Jake and the others at Forge completely botched our holding tank replacement project. They essentially just rubber stamped our existing 40-year-old paperwork without thinking about the actual design or newer codes, and then said it wasn’t their fault when, during installation, we realized the plans didn’t work or meet code. It took us 3 rounds of “design” with Forge to pass Muni inspection and our contractor had to do so much mid-project re-work that mistakes were made and we’re still sorting out the implications 6 months later. If you want a real engineer who will properly inspect your site, discuss your options, design a septic system that meets your needs and the Muni’s current codes, and work with your contractor when questions about the design come up, look elsewhere. The only positive thing I have to say about Forge is that Ben waived most of their fees in an effort to “make up for” the debacle, so at least I didn’t have to pay much for their incompetence.

I'm owner-building my first home in Anchorage and used Forge for septic design. Forge gave me the most competitive quote, delivered all work on time, and got the design through permitting on the first go. Ben was really easy to work with and communicated well (which is not always the norm in the construction industry). Would definitely recommend for future projects.

Wish zero stars was an option. We bought our first home in October of last year and were informed that the septic had to be redone. We were relieved to find out before we bought the house. That was, until the snow melted and we saw the terrible job that they left. We can barely drive over our driveway into our garage because there is a three foot cliff through the middle. The front lawn that was tore up from the floor up. We called to ask if they could come roughly level it out for us so we could then hire landscaping company to help finish the job. We were told it was “not in their contract,” and there is nothing they could do to help us. We were quoted $7,000 from a landscaping company and can not afford that as we just bought our first house last winter. Both landscaping companies that we contacted told us “this was the worst septic job they had seen despite it being done mid-winter.” It was left hazardous and was an unconscionable.

Anyways, just wanted to warn anyone know who might be considering hiring this company. This is very unfortunate for our young family trying to start our lives together. Go to a more scrupulous company who cares about the quality of their work and their clients.
