I really wish I could leave a more positive review. Dillon was nice and that's the reason for the two stars. The quality of the work done was poor from my perspective and not worth the savings over other options.

We had two rooms on our main floor that we were looking to tile and have trim reinstalled. We selected Family First Restoration based on having great reviews and being the lowest bid. We thought it was a great find. The job which we were originally told was going to be 2.5 days, turned into 1.5 weeks. Things came up on their side which I totally understand and we were ok with the delay. The disappointing part was in the work performed. Even with the extended timeline, the job looks very rushed. There were many examples of poor quality work on a small job and others that are annoyances that don't reflect the level of professionalism we were expecting. I did reach out to have the trim addressed. I received one response asking for a picture and then nothing since.

1. I very clearly requested to have the floor board mitered in the corners the way it is in every other corner of our house. Dillon said he could make it look like that with caulk but not actually do the cut. I said that I really just want it mitered in the corners. He said ok but then filled the large gap with caulk which is quite obvious and left. Originally, he was also planning on using two pieces of trim poorly matched on one wall and blending that with caulk as well. We ripped it out ourselves to prevent that approach as we had the material to do it properly with one piece.
2. The trim in our bathroom is poorly done as well. One section of the floor board is slightly too long so the trim around the door was just pushed to the side and now sticks out into the door way instead of nicely framing it. Another section near our vanity has a massive gap he couldn't even caulk on top and is sticking out from the wall. There are large gaps between the floor board and the tile as well.
3. No water resistant caulk / silicone was used around the backsplash for our vanity. Whatever grout is there wipes away with a wet paper towel.
4. The caulk used around the trim was smeared onto our newly painted light blue walls leaving them with a milky color. Proper masking would prevent this.
5. Dillon blamed us for shifting a tile in the bathroom (none of us touched the tile). The result is we were told that it would be uneven spacing and we just got to choose where it was uneven - not that he would correct the work.
6. The work space was never cleaned up. I even had to roll his tile saw into our garage at the end of the day.
7. Dillon reinstalled our clothes washer with the hoses reversed. With 1.5 weeks of clothes piled up, I ended up washing a few loads with Hot water when it was set to Cold before realizing the error. I was never sure how critical this was but it is now quite noticeable on many articles.
8. We discussed the plastic piece which covers the pipe going into the wall and that we wanted to keep it. When I looked after Dillon had left, he decided not to use it and just leave the rough hole in the wall visible with no discussion.
9. Our toilet was pulled for 1.5 weeks without ever putting anything in or on the pipe to prevent fumes coming out into the house. I also had to run the fan and air the house each day to address the smell of cigarettes.

If you want to have quality work done, unfortunately, I would look elsewhere.

We hired FFR after finding them through Nextdoor to replace portions of our fence that blew over in a wind storm. They worked with us on price and had no problem splitting up bids to share portions with our neighbors, showed up when they said they would, took care of dumpsters and demo, and worked hard for long 3 days on fence replacement and new gates. They are an amazing husband and wife team and brought a 3rd helper for a couple of the days to assist! And the fence turned out great! I would definitely recommend them to anyone else…and they do more than just fences so we will have them come back when we are ready to tackle more projects at our house. Very honest and hard working people!

Everyone was incredibly helpful and skilled throughout the entire process and guided us through with care and attention to our needs.
