When my husband and I bought our home in the Whittier neighborhood, we knew our first “home improvement” project would be to build a garage off the alley. Sounds simple, right? No, no, no, not for a former architect and interior designer! While we love our home, its Victorian style is not so much the style we wanted to replicate on the garage. In fact, we had a fairly specific idea about what we wanted and knew we wouldn’t be able to get it from your average garage contractor. Enter Denver Design Build... In working with Josh and the remodel team, we were able to work through our ideas and brainstorm about how we might make our vision come to life. When the first draft wasn’t quite right, the DDB design team went back to the literal drawing board and came back with a revision that was perfect. Once we began the construction process, we were continually impressed with the quality of work delivered by the subs. With the guidance of Justin, our amazing site manager, we were able to work through on-site challenges as they developed and problems were addressed as promptly as possible. Jake handled the patina process on our metal panels and we loved his hands-on approach to working with the material (if you want something unique in metal, Jake is your man!). The truth is, the entire DDB team was professional, respectful, and took the time and care to do great work! Our project was delivered on budget and we were able to expand our scope to a small front porch remodel. If you find yourself interviewing multiple contractors for your project, be wary of bidders who come in exceptionally low. In Denver’s current construction climate, it is worth it to pay a bit more for a contractor who will stand behind their work and subs. We were very happy with Josh and Denver Design Build and will absolutely consider them on our future interior remodel projects!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Denver Design Build. We recently completed an addition on our Park Hill home; the project was under budget and completed prior to schedule. Tyler was extremely efficient, organized, and readily available. Any concerns we had were quickly resolved. Josh did a great job interpreting our visions and making them a reality. Denver Design Build (DDB) built us a new home in Denver. The challenge of designing and building a new home and diligently managing the process / budget was made relatively easy with Denver Design Build. It was a very positive experience from initial contact and discussions with co-owner Jeff Gates, working plans and budget with Head of Residential Construction Josh Gubser, day to day details of construction and budget decisions with Project Manager Justin Luna, and addressing minor warranty issues with Spasko Popducev. Everyone we worked with (from demolition through design / build to warranty) at DDB was very professional, knowledgeable, creative and communicative. DDB made it a fun experience too! Thanks to everyone at Denver Design Build for building us a wonderful house and for being a pleasure to work with.

They are dedicated and committed to doing quality work. They were diligent, and finished the work on time. Denver Design Build was an excellent company to work with!! We had a extensive kitchen (with structural work) and bath remodel in an old Denver bungalow. We were apprehensive about starting the work because we had heard very few people who have had positive experiences with their contractors, stories like, "You like your contractor now, but wait until the project is finished." I have to say we had the opposite experience. Our project did take quite a bit of time, a lot of that due to the changes we made, but we still like our contractor and would use them over and over.
One of the best things about the company is how organized they are with the financial piece. They DO NOT spend any of your money with changes UNLESS you are made aware and do an actual sign off for approval. This was a huge relief and helped alleviate any upsetting financial surprises.
The subcontractors they work with are excellent. I am a female who spends the majority of the time working from home and never once did I feel uncomfortable with the people working in our home. They were always kind and respectful, and always cleaned up their mess on a daily basis.
In addition the project managers that were assigned to our project were always kind and always easy to get in touch with if there was a problem. And they still routinely check in to insure things are working properly.
And finally the most important part is the work was done correctly. They never cut corners and made sure tasks were completed to the highest standard. There were several instances where we were not satisfied with the outcome and they went above and beyond to make sure in the end we received a product we were happy with.
We are so happy with our new kitchen and bath and again would work with Jeff and Jeff at DDB again in a heart beat!

In 2013 my husband and I had finally had enough of our ineptly designed master bath and went in search for a contractor to fix it. When we found Denver Design Build we looked no further. From the beginning it was easy to work with the Jeffs and their prices were reasonable and made sense. It is true you get what you pay for, and with DDB what you get is quality craftsmanship and a well-managed project. In our case we were very particular in what we wanted and DDB gave us the freedom to design our own space down to the very last detail. Everything about our project was custom: the vanities and matching mirrors, built-in closet organization, shower bench, medicine cabinet, toilet paper shelf, and DDB executed them all beautifully and on schedule. If something wasn’t done the way we had expected, Jeff made sure that it was redone until it was right. In the end our project cost matched their original estimate and we got the bathroom of our dreams – along with some other stuff they let us add to the scope of work along the way.
