When I purchased my home in Studio City many years ago, there was an above ground pool in the back yard. It became difficult to manage, and provided very little enjoyment due to the small size. In 2016 I tore both the pool and the large deck surrounding it out and it left a large empty spot in the back yard. During the drought, the remainder of the yard deteriorated and the whole backyard was severely neglected.

I decided to remodel the backyard in 2017 and wanted to make it more comfortable, inviting, and an extension of my home. While I’ve been a homeowner for many years, I felt I could do a majority of the work myself. What I was not comfortable with was the design, selection of plantings, and layout. I decided to search for a Landscape Architect on the internet.

About a year ago I found Francesca Corra, the Dirt Diva on an internet search. Both her reviews and qualifications were very good. We met, and I decided to engage her in the project. First she coached me through the design and layout of the entire project. Francesca was also instrumental in the irrigation planning, and improving drainage issues that I have encountered during rainy season, and plant selection. She advised me where to plant, and when to plant.

While I was most fearful of the design and selection process, Francesca made this very easy for me. The project is now finished and looks great and was within budget. Francesca made the project come to life, and was instrumental in a beautiful finished project. She was extremely helpful, professional, considerate of the entire process, and comes highly recommended. Thank You Francesca on a great job!

Francesca is amazing! I needed a complete front and back yard overhaul. I saw Francesca's work initially at a Santa Monica Airport demonstration garden, where she won a design contest. I knew I wanted a drought tolerant approach, and I had some specific plants in mind, but I needed a designer to create a complete vision. Francesca is thoughtful and professional, and she communicates clearly as she coaches you through the process. At the same time she's also warm and caring. Francesca possesses a creativity that she applied to repurposing many items that I had on hand and finding the perfect feature to make my project truly unique. The contractors that Francesca brought to my project were also top notch, and they expressed respect and admiration for her work. My garden was finished in Spring of 2019, and has only become more beautiful as the plants and trees have matured. It became my pandemic sanctuary and has allowed me to safely remain connected to friends and family. Thank you Francesca, I am truly grateful!
