We built our home with Derrick and then 7 years later finished the basement with Derrick.
They have been absolutely AMAZING to work with on both projects.
Our basement project was run by Jerry and Jake. Both are highly skilled, communicative and knowledgeable. We were always kept up to speed on the status of contractors and budget. Working with Derrick was awesome and we'd recommend them to anyone looking for a home build or a remodel project!

My wife and I moved from MN to WI this year. We bought a one year old home that had been built by Derrick Custom Homes. We did a one year walk through with the former owners and a Derrick represenative to create the punch list of repairs prior to closing on the home. Derrick took care of all of the punch list items as well as a couple of additional things that we discovered.

We moved in early April and in mid-May the house was struck by lightning. The lightning strike did just under $60,000 of damage. We contracted with Derrick to make the repairs. The shingles, soffits, and facia were damaged by the lightning and needed to be replaced. Most of the flashing was melted and much of the siding had to come off to replace the flashing. In addition there was some damage to the wiring and other electrical components. They did an excellent job getting the home back into like new condition.

We liked the work they did so much that we decided to use them to put a wet bar and cabinets in our lower level. I drew a very rough picture of what I wanted and emailed it to Derrick. We then had a design session at their office where they had converted my drawing into a CAD drawing. The designer then made suggestions and let us make changes and pick colors in realtime at the computer. As you can see from the bar picture it turned out great.

When the cabinets were installed protective material was placed in the family room to protect the carpeting. When they finished their work, they touched up the paint on the walls, and vacuumed up. The room was cleaner when they finished than it was when they started.

Jake and Jerry from Derrick were my points of contact through out the lightning repairs and the bar design and installation. They were very responsive and wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the work. They were great to work with!

I highly recommend Derrick Custom for anyone who wants to build a great home with a very customer oriented, high quality builder.

Derrick built our home in the spring of 2016. The people at Derrick Construction were very friendly and accommodating to the every need of our custom built home. They worked with my wife and I on every decision no matter how big or small. They helped us in everything from choosing the lot, to the drawing of the plans, to the picking of appliances, materials, and all of the other parts that went into our home. The final product was nothing less than spectacular. Our family and friends are in awe of how the new home looks and many of them have said that the house looks like it came straight out of a magazine. It is truly our dream home!

Another great aspect of Derrick Construction is their follow through after the home is completed. As in any new construction, there are minor odds and ends that need to be touched up, changed, or completed. Derrick not only made sure that all of those minor items were taken care of, they also coordinated all of the different people to come in and do the jobs, even if they were from a sub-contractor and not even an employee of Derrick. They make sure you are happy long after the closing date on your new home.

I highly recommend Derrick for any new construction project you may be thinking about. Their craftsmanship and quality are second to none. The house that they will build for you will be elegant and timeless. You will be very happy with your new home, I promise!

When we moved to Hudson a year and a half ago we looked at roughly 25 homes and couldn't find one to meet our unique situation. We wanted to find a home with a mother-in-law unit and the ones we saw were located in the basement of the home. One of the first homes we looked at was a Derrick Custom home and we liked the look and decided just to check in to see if they could build what we wanted. We were worried about cost and figured that a custom home would be a lot more money. But from the first meeting with Mike Stevens and our multiple meetings with Megan we were able to design a home to meet all of our needs. We can't say enough about our home and our neighborhood!

Had a great experience dealing with all Derrick personnel. Ron has a fantastic team. We had a custom home designed by an architect and Derrick worked well with the architect and had many great ideas. We had visited the Derrick model home in the area many times looking at the quality of their work and explore options to build (the home was sold at the time).
