We had them do an inspection prior to purchasing our home in December of 2022. We were traveling at the time and used an engineering company rather than a home inspector thinking they would be more thorough. We continue to be disappointed with our decision.
We are regularly finding issues that were missed and found another item this past month (2/2025). Specifically: garage floor does not drain, crack in corner of garage floor and adjacent foundation, insulation destroyed in an attic and polluted by racoons, weather stripping on every window in the house dry-rotted. Most recently found the chimney needs over $8000 of repair from long standing issues. All of these were missed by the engineer.

It's great having the peace of mind that comes with having a certified engineer assess the structure of our home, and the inspector pointed out some things that weren't present in another more general home inspection we recently had completed.

This would be a 5-star review had they delivered the report when they committed to do so or committed to delivering the report when it was more reasonable to expect it. I had to follow up with them to get the report after the time they'd committed to had passed.

Criterium did a great job on my inspection, with prompt response to my request for their services. The report was extremely detailed, documented with pictures, and with easy to understand, and well organized, sections on each sector of the house. They made it easy to make a decision on the purchase, and they provided me with a plan for home improvement and maintenance moving forward. Knowing that only structural engineers were in involved in the inspection brought a trust factor into the process that is invaluable.

Called yesterday, showed up today. Aaron was great on the phone hearing what I needed and setting appointment, emailing confirmation, setting clear expectations. He even referred me to another engineer to help with an area they do not address. Logan was patient, did a thorough on site evaluation, and made suggestions. He will have his report to me in a couple days.
