I cannot say enough about my experience working with Cornerstone Contracting in the construction of a 32x42x12 garage/shop. They were timely, conscientious, and provided a top-notch quality product. The good news for me anyway was that the project was completed just as the snow was beginning to fly as opposed to sometime next year.
Initially, Jeremiah, the owner, stated that he had worked lined up into the spring of 2025, but he noted that if he could get the concrete work done prior to winter/frost, he might be able to work on the structure through the winter.
What made this construction unique is that I already had a 30x40 slab that I was looking to build this garage/shop over. After connecting with the building inspector, we had to build footings for the walls. Jeremiah brought in additional workers who knew how to construct the forms for those footings.
Once the footings were poured and set, then it was off to the races. Jeremiah and his crew wasted no time in securing the needed materials and framing up the walls and putting on the trusses. At each step care was taken to make sure that everything was true and square. So when it came to put on the outer sheathing and roof decking, it was fairly easy fit the sheets in place. The siding, vinyl and the roofing, asphalt went up/down without a hitch.
I included in my requests of options that Jeremiah include three windows, a service door and a 10x12 garage door with opener. As one looks at each of these additions, one can immediately notice the care taken to ensure that they were properly framed in and installed. I also had him and his crew insulate and sheath the inside as they had the tools to efficiently install those items.
Today, when I walk into the garage/shop I am still amazed that the project is already done. I can turn on the heater for a short period of time and can enjoy in a clean, warm, well-lit, and draft-free environment while working on various projects.
I cannot recommend Cornerstone Construction enough if you are thinking of building a deck, putting on an addition to your house, or like me building a stand-alone garage/shop.
