Had this guy, Ralph, out for 2 different jobs at 2 different properties. He did a good job on the one and thought we could trust him with the other, which was smaller.

He is an ex contractor who charges contractor prices, yet bills himself out as a "handyman." He is not a "handyman." He perceives himself as a contractor and his pricing reflects this...$75 per hour when others in this area are $20 to $25.

He did get both jobs done quickly for us, and to his credit, he knows what he's doing. His guy, Jim - the guy who does the actual work - is exceptional, and does a great job. In the actual work, you can trust.

The job is done competently, but only if you like paying crazy high prices and listening to Ralph complain. Because he was all the while telling us how very busy he was - so busy you can't believe - and complaining about having to come to our area for this small "handyman" job, even though his ad says he services this area and services it as a "handyman." No, not really.

The other glaring problem with this Ralph person is that he quotes you the job and then at the end there is always a surprise. Oops! It's the materials. Extra! Oops, it's something else. Quote the job for the job, don't add a surprise at the end.

This extra is never discussed. He gives you a price and that's what you think you're going to pay. No. It's like "Wait, there's more." Feels like a rip off at the end. Just quote the job with everything in it. Don't surprise people at the end with your extras.

He also tries to put himself out there as a "nice guy" who will help you pay for his already high priced job by telling you he can collect it later, say, at the closing if you are selling your house...because he's a nice guy and wants to help you do the things you need to do to get your house ready to sell. Sorry, this is a mechanic's lien and doesn't help anyone except him, and especially not you. Preying on people who don't know the difference.

Bottom line, this is a SHARK, a predator. Stay far, far, far away, unless you like being ripped off.

Never, never, never again. Ever.
