Highest praise possible goes to Butel Construction for their stunning remodel of our kitchen!! Shai and his teams of craftsmen and skilled workers was a dream come true. Top notch quality and great communication made for a perfect experience. Our project was challenging, as we wanted to integrate a modern kitchen into a 100 year old Spanish style home. Had an amazing experience with my remodel thanks to Butel Construction! Last winter, a water damage incident forced my kitchen to be stripped down to the studs and fully rebuilt and remodeled. I did a lot of research and found Butel Construction, and I'm so glad I did. I came with a lot of ideas that I wasn't sure were possible, but Shai is so smart, easy to work with, and helpful in making decisions, and listened thoughtfully with realistic feedback about my ideas and made them happen. My kitchen turned out absolutely AMAZING and within the time frame that I was promised. I can't say enough good things about Shai and his team 🙂

The entire skillful Butel team was great to work with. They transformed an older and awkward kitchen and laundry area into a beautiful, functional space. They communicated well and solved multiple issues all while obtaining pertinent and required city permits. I found them very easy to work with; most of all they calmed my fears in the process! Shai and his crew were wonderful to work with. He always listened and took care of whatever issues came up. No construction sight goes smoothly no matter how hard you plan but you can get a good contractor who knows how to take care of everything. Shai was that contractor for me and I would absolutely use him again for future projects. The workmanship was excellent too. You can get the most expensive tile but if the tile setter is lousy your tile will look lousy. You can get inexpensive tile and if you have a good tile setter it looks fantastic. Shai's crew did a beautiful job and I smile every time I walk into my bathrooms. One small note, sometimes contractors leave a mess at the end of the day - his crew always cleaned up after themselves.

In 2020, Butel construction did a remodel of my kitchen. Shai listened to what I wanted and showed my options for improvements that I had not even considered. The team was efficient, punctual, and left everything clean at the end of the day. My kitchen turned out beautiful and is my favorite room in my house. Last week (Feb 2024) I had water damage in my living room ceiling from the recent rainstorms. I called Shai on a Sunday night and he had a plumber and his team out at 8:30 Monday morning. They investigated the leak and took away the damaged drywall. I was so thankful not to have to worry about mold build up. I am now working with Shai to have the ceiling repaired. When I redo my bathrooms, which I hope to do in the next year or two, and will work once again with Butel Construction.

So… these guys are the absolute best. I have had such disappointing experiences with contractors in the past. One just wouldn’t finish the job, another did really sloppy work, others started and then turned part time, etc etc. So I put off completing the final parts of the remodel on our 1920’s bungalow. In the end we couldn’t live with the horrendous mess that was the bathroom any longer, so called 5 contractors to bid on the work. A guy called Tom came out from Butel and put together a bid that was in the middle of the pack in terms of price, and absolutely at the top in terms of thoroughness, detail and understanding of the scope of work.So I chose Butel. I couldn’t be happier. Shai Butel (the owner) is fantastic. Miguel the project manager / foreman was great. They brought the project in on time, on budget and at top notch quality levels. Their workers were great too, had positive / happy attitudes (really important as we were still living in half of the house), were here every day, and took great pride in their work. They had great communication, and nothing was too much trouble. Despite a few small redirects from me here and there, there were no nickel and dime change orders (unlike my previous contractors who seemed to have them waiting up their sleeves). So yes, all in all a great experience. I am recommending them to all my neighbors, and will absolutely use them again.

Shai did an incredible job on our ADU. He was very responsive and made sure everything was done right. A year or so after the ADU was completed, we sold the property. Some minor things came up during home inspection and he had his people come back and fix it. We are so happy we went with Shai. He did such a beautiful job.

Butel was wonderful to work with; they were very helpful and patient with us, since we were first-time homeowners and wanted to restore our 1920s Spanish style home that was not in great condition. They were responsive and provided us with resources like subcontractors and places to source material, but were also flexible and worked with whatever we wanted to use, regardless of whether or not we sourced from them. Whenever there were unexpected challenges they worked with us to make sure we were satisfied. A few additional costs and delays came up during the job, but they were all 100% justified (again, old house with crazy things like asbestos pipes hidden in walls) and handled very well.
The house looks just the way we wanted it to, and everything finally works (when we first moved in pre-renovation just about nothing worked right)!
