I initially chose Boulevard Construction based on what I believed were strong credentials, including top ratings in California’s Sacramento market, a history of global expertise since the early 2000s, and a commitment to “artisanal” construction. In my opinion, their marketing materials, which referenced sustainable, iconic structures and expert craftsmanship, suggested a high level of professionalism. I also understood from their verbal assurances that they would deliver top-quality work and uphold all code and regulatory requirements for my gas station construction project in Highland, CA.
I believe that Boulevard Construction withdrew funds exceeding the actual progress on the job. Key items—including storm drain systems, parking lot concrete, and erosion control—remained partially done or not started, despite substantial payments having been made for these items.
The company’s materials and verbal assurances emphasize integrity, yet I found that certain subcontractors remained unpaid. These unpaid bills led to two mechanical liens (totaling approximately $86,000) against my property.
Critical safety measures, such as OSHA-compliant shoring, were not followed. This appears to conflict with the company’s stated commitment to sustainable and iconic structures.
Roof repairs and HVAC installation—were performed without the necessary permits. Moreover they failed to verify if the AQMD permit was issued. This posed potential safety and building regulation concerns.
Although the company’s website highlights detailed oversight, I observed minimal on-site supervision. Missed notifications to local authorities contributed to project errors and delays.
