Borja Unique Masonry is a local, family owned business and recently completed major flagstone and concrete repair projects for us. Their work was exceptional. The owner and lead person is A.B. Borja who works with his father Fidel and a cousin (also named Fidel) to provide a wonderful product delivered with the highest degree of professionalism and expertise. The entire project from proposal to completion was finished exactly as promised. Daily clean up from a very dusty job was carefully done to minimize disruption of our property. Customer service and communication during the construction was exactly as expected and needed. Friends and neighbors are all amazed at the beautiful stone selection and finished jobs. If you need masonry work done, we highly recommend calling A.B. at Borja for an estimate and high quality work you'll be proud of. Thank you Borja Masonry!

After reading reviews and talking to A.B. we were excited about working with this company. A.B. was very professional in all of our dealings. Unfortunately, as the pictures show, the quality of the work was not so great. The blocks were not aligned, causing the wall to look "wavy." We contacted A.B., and he came out and did offer to redo the wall. But, he swore there was nothing wrong with the wall the way it had been built and if they rebuilt it, it would probably be the same. We showed these pictures to many people, and everyone who saw them were amazed and said the wall was not built properly. Since A.B. would never admit that there was a problem with the wall, we did not feel comfortable having them rebuild it. If he had just admitted that his guys had a bad day and did not do their best work, we would have felt comfortable letting them fix the problem. He did give us a substantial discount since we were dissatisfied, but we are left with a poorly built wall.

After calling many companies, and setting-up appointments that were not honored, I called Borja Unique Masonry. Mr. Azalea Borja answered my call directly (not answering machines or needed to transfer my call).
The professionalism, consideration, punctuality, knowledge in this field, and satisfactory results, can only lead me to recommend Mr. Borja, without a doubt.

AB and crew are extremely professional, hard working, and they know their business. They will bid fair and honestly for the excellent work they provide, and will tell it honestly if something cannot be done to their standard.

Once completed, they removed the extra & cleaned up to "as it was" condition, they showed respect for my yard/home, and were extremely friendly and willing to answer questions along the way and let me watch the project as it unfolded. We first contacted Borja Unique Masonry a year ago when someone ran into a short retaining wall in front of our house and we had them repair it. This led to further discussions with AB because our 40 year old house needed repairs.

We had a variety of issues with our home: mortar missing from various places between various slump block of our home and between cap blocks on retaining walls, cracks in a wall and retaining walls, cracks in a block yard wall due to tree roots, broken cement around our patio with sunken pavers, broken and sunken steps, and crumbling red brick accent blocks.

When AB first came out late last year to talk about our needs he demonstrated his willingness to listen and to offer much needed artistic advice. We were not able to follow through at the time but when I asked for bids this past April, he came by in May when businesses reopened after Covid lockdown. He was the only business who gave a detailed bid that showed exactly what he was going to do and his price was just slightly lower than the others. Having seen his work and feeling comfortable with our prior discussions we decided to go with Borja Unique Masonry and we couldn’t be happier that we did.
Because I changed and increased the shape of our existing patio area, I decided to take some of the pavers from a walkway because there was no other way to match a color from 40 years ago. AB suggested flagstone pavers to match the surrounding pinkish rock and that was an outstanding suggestion. The cement border and the resetting of the pavers showed how excellent their work is. Although that was the major part of work to be done, everything else was exceptional as well. All the patching is such that you’d never know anything was patched, it looks so perfect.
As the project went along - which took 3 weeks of constant work - I found other things I thought I should fix and asked more questions and added more things. Each time AB would provide an updated bid with the same care and attention to detail as he had for the first one. He was so kind and flexible. I appreciate so much his willingness to work with us.
Once the work was complete, they raked the existing rock back into place and put the furniture back where it had been and cleaned up and hauled away the debris. There was definitely attention to detail. The overall end result is so much better than I ever imagined. Our house and yard are once again beautiful as they once were and we feel so lucky that we found them.
It should be noted that I did read some of the negative reviews here last year but I thought the positive ones addressed what we needed more. I did learn though all this experience with various contractors that most do not respond in a timely manner and certainly don’t explain things that well nor give the detail and attention to bids. It’s important to remain flexible and give the benefit of the doubt because often the best contractors are very busy. I’m so glad we were fortunate enough to have Borja Unique Masonry do our repairs. and very highly recommend them!

I don't like to give bad reviews but I am flabbergasted at what happened. Borja sent someone to my house to look at my wall which need patching. We told the person right then and there we want to hire them to do the repair job. Was told that a contract needed to be written and I would receive an email within 24 hours. 3 days later, no email. I called and left a message and heard nothing, called again a couple days later, nothing. It has been 3 weeks and I just had the wall repaired by someone else. Was my job too small? That would have been nice to have been told when the person from the company was at my house! Or, do they not need the business? SMH.

I am extremely satisfied with the service and product that this contractor provided in their repair of my brick wall. They completed their work in an expeditious manner. Each brick was laid in precise alignment with the other bricks; they were then leveled; and finally, every brick was carefully tamped down to the correct height. As a result, my wall looks beautiful!
